Ok, so I buy the game with my Windows XP computer, thinking this game is going to rock! Was I wrong!
3/4 the time I click on theicon the game does NOT load and the other 1/4 it takes soooooooooo long to respond its not funny.
EVERYTIME I am done playing I have to restart my pc because it will not let me open my disk drive to take the CD out.
Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem you've described. I've even mounted an image of the disc to a virtual drive, and it still does the same thing. I have no idea what causes it, but it's incredibly frustrating.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people.
Mounting a disk image probably wouldn't work because of the copy protection.

CPthrills, let me suggest this:
Your problem could be caused by another application running in the background that your not even aware of.
1. Reboot your computer (cold boot is best)
2. After the Windows screen appears, hold down your shift key and keep it held down until your entire desktop appears and your cursor changes from the hour glass to normal.
This will prevent most background processes from executing as part of your boot sequence and may very well eliminate your problem.
Your other option is to try purchasing a new cd-rom drive. It doesn't have to be an expensive one, just go with a very reliable one: Creative Labs for example. That may be all it takes! Good Luck!

Good idea... an older CD drive may not work. Since the copy protection relies on finding "bad" data on the disc, some drives may not read it, causing the disk not to work.
I personally think this kind of protection sucks, and would almost rather have MS product activation over this. There are perfectly legal and justified reasons to copy a CD for personal use, but these moron pirates who cause massive software theft can be thanked for that.

Well, I've been using Daemon-Tools which has SecuROM emulation built in, so the virtual CD drive has worked. It doesn't work any more or less frequently than using the game CD, but it doesn't require that I reboot my computer after each attempt because I can't get the CD back.

The ironic thing is the serious software pirates are not even slowed down by that copy protection because they copy what is on the disk bit by bit including the copy protection. The copy protection just serves to bother people with legitimate uses for the software and not the pirates.
