Magic Mountain's Deja Vu to open Saturday

Posted | Contributed by StealthmF5m3

Following what appeared to be a string of delays, the first giant inverted boomerang by Vekoma will open at Six Flags Magic Mountain this Saturday. Identical rides at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia, both of which are nearing the end of their seasons, have not yet announced official opening dates.

All efforts needed to be focused on this one, because of SFMM boast to being america's new "roller coast". They have to get this and X open ASAP to not have egg on their faces. The other 2 parks were not gunning for the record.
So its gonna open before X after all. ;)
Expect breakdowns and unreal long lines.

The lift winches at the SFGAm Deja Vu have been recently remounted -- they were in place again when I visited Sunday, 8/19.
I say Deja Vu opens on Saturday as planned.  But there is one thing I need to know, why is Magic Mountain staying open until 1:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21?

Will it be open to the public all day long saturday? Saturday is my last day out here in Southern California on my vacation and I really hope to be able to ride it before we leave. I hope to bribe my parents into driving back up there again, we just went last saturday. My brother saw it test I missed it as I was waiting in line for Batman. I didn't see it test but this thing is gigantic and I can't wait for a ride on this!
Suspended Andrew,

What were the crowds like last weekend?  I am going soon and don't want to hassle with long lines.  Does anyone think a weekend in September will be bad?

I will have to see this for myself. I will be going this sunday. I expect there to be some long lines for this one. In my opinion, I think its kinda unfair for all the other Six Flags that have Deja Vu's there that are just siting there. You all dont have to agree with my opinion. We all just have to hope that everything goes as planned with DeJa Vu.
Hmmm... I am still thinking about when to go.  Last week of December or a Saturday in September.  I am waiting until X opens to go because I know that I won't get back till late next year(unless my dad who hasn't been there since Collossus opened can change is mind about the park).  I am just glad that one of the Dejas will open somewhat close to the first opening date given(not that it is close ;) )

I wouldn't necessarily count on long lines for Deja rigth after opening.  Goliath's lines were pretty short -- granted it opened in February -- until the advertising campaign began.  I'd be willing to bet most people are not going to rush out and ride.
Great news, now they can fix every Deja Vu and get them going within a month or so.
So this means that Magic Mountain will now share the record with Cedar Point....

Adam Frank- It was the last saturday that MM is open the regular summer hours so it was crowded but not crazy. We were able to stay ahead of the main crowd for Goliath, Batman, and the Riddler then the lines began to get long. Most waits for semi-popular rides, ie-(Psyclone, Viper) were around 20-30 minutes. Rides like Superman and Batman had hour waits. I am guessing crowds shouldn't be that bad in September.
whats up with the height restrictions on deja vu?
