Magic Mountain's Deja Vu to open Saturday

Posted | Contributed by StealthmF5m3

Following what appeared to be a string of delays, the first giant inverted boomerang by Vekoma will open at Six Flags Magic Mountain this Saturday. Identical rides at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia, both of which are nearing the end of their seasons, have not yet announced official opening dates.

Can you say press release? Anyway, can't wait to hear the reviews.
Anyone else get the feeling this thing could be a bust?

Snoopy:  employees who have ridden it say its great.  Only major roughness is when the train engages w/ the catch trolley on the return spike.  Regardless of what we think the GP will eat this baby up!

Are people trained to be so negative, or does it just come naturally? Why not just hope everything goes ok this time, and leave it at that? Like mammosh says, if Deja Vu is not your thing, let the people it was created for enjoy it.
I know. People bash these things just because of delays, because it's "just another boomerang", and it's built by Vekoma. Honestly. Don't say bull about  ride before you get on it, or put it down by saying it'll crash or something. We are coaster enthusiasts. COASTER enthusiasts. And I find it funny that SFoG's Deja Vu is opening much later (official word said October) and it was the first to finish vertical construction and begin testing. Oh, well. At least ONE of them is going to be open soon right?
Finally! A Deja Vu is going to open. I hope the ride doesn't have any problems. Maybe people might think that the ride is a boomerang and "they" won't go on it.

I couldn't image "running of the bulls" to the ride.

And what do we get if your wrong?
Jack
maybe an apology
nellyville, why do you have to be so negative? What's wrong with this ride in your opinion? I mean if it's because it's been delayed so much, do you hate S:TE? This coaster is gonna be pretty sweet, it has one of the larger inverted loops out there and a 20 story free-fall!! It's gonna be pretty ok at the least.

Guess I'm not the only one who thinks people are too negative on here.

Oh, we're not that bad.  I think this ride has gotten a bad rep just because it is from Vekoma.  Honestly, nobody is terribly negative on this forum, people just like to voice their opinions.  Sometimes people say things, and people take it the wrong way.  If everybody was postitive, the world would be a boring place.  Thank goodness for this public forum. *** This post was edited by Craig the Coaster Freak on 8/21/2001. ***
it seems to me that much of the negativity is sparked from jealousy for some reason. Since the other Deja Vu's were built first, and among much of the younger buzzers there is a Rest of America vs. West Coast thing going on, there is some resentment that people in California still get to try it out sooner, while others just have to see a giant coaster sitting there for a whole season. I would be a little upset to!

I'm with you Dweaver.  Any day I'm riding a coaster...ANY coaster...is a good day in my book.  I'd rather be on an SLC than not ride at all.

As for the delays you can't blame the park if Vekoma didn't have their act together.  And Vekoma isn't the only one who has problems.  Look at Intamin and the problems they had with S:TE, Perilous Plunge, Volcano, and even the Supermans.

It will open, the crowds will love it, and it will pay the way for more coasters.
