Magic Mountain Under Fire!?!

The wild fires in California are getting pretty close to MM. Hope no damage comes of these fires!
well, Psyclone is already gone, if SFMM would have waited a couple months, they possibly could have saved some on demo costs.

I am more worried about all the people losing there houses, rather than six flags.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

No kidding, crazy horse. Even if I liked the park my first thoughts would be with the people who lived in that area.
^^So we can take it that you're not the slightest bit worried about Six Flags' toll booths burning down either? ;)

I would probably post my concern on PeopleBuzz, then. Or maybe WorldBuzz. FireBuzz?

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

So, how are our So Cal buzzers fairing? Does anyone know if any have been evacuated? It looks like Malibu is getting hit really hard.

Certain victory.

From maps on Google, it looks like the Santa Clarita fire is less than a mile from the park. :( Let's hope they don't sustain any damage (or any of the good citizens of the area either, of course).

I don't think Voyage061 doesn't care about the people. News reports are that the fires are getting close to MM, and this is a coaster/park site... (rest of post deleted for my own protection).

A little too close for comfort there...

My sister drove past Magic Mountain Parkway at around 3:30 pm today on Interstate-5 and called me to tell me the hills surrounding the park were all up in flames and thick clouds of smoke. I was aware of the San Diego and Malibu brushfires, but didn't know embers had blown all the way to the Santa Clarita Valley. Then I looked it up and the Valencia fire had JUST started at around 2:49 pm.
As of two hours ago, the fire, which had started near the junction of Old Road and Magic Mountain Parkway, was burning west, toward the park.

This could be touch or go. I wonder what kind of actions a park can take in a situation like this. Are there any protocols in place, other than evacuation of staff and guests? Do they douse the woodies with water? Are any of the park personnel trained in firefighting, or do they just rely on Valencia FD?

Just watching the news here in so-cal and as many of you know there are 12 wild fires burning down here

One of the Biggest is in Stevenson Ranch with is about 3 Miles for SFMM

Same, I am a Season passholder and was going to go to Fright last night friday night and decided to do it this coming friday and well... yeah... hope the park is ok for it even though looking at what I posted it does not have a whole lot going for it.
Update from Dave Malkoff (CBS2 Reporter)

Subject:Re: Magic Mountain info

Nothing at the park burned.
