Love Thread: Small Woodies

Who could not love the Thunderbolt at Kennywood?

I really loved Giant Dipper at Belmont Park in San Diego. It was quick, and at the time I rode it, smooth and very pleasurable. As for now, all I have is my beloved, well taken care of High Roller at ValleyFair!

This is my first post, and just as a warning, all of my posts will have something to do with ValleyFair! because it is my Home Park.

Phoenix owns all small, check that, ALL woodies!
Don't forget my ultimate(is it not obviouse what I'm about to say) Camden Parks Big Dipper. It looks like nothing, but that back seat gives so much air time that I had to hold my five year old cousin down to keep him from flying out. Did anyone else notice how the trains have been fixed up this year. NO MORE DUCT TAPE! I know how you feel daveinMN.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

Well if Ozark Wildcat, Legend and Raven count - I love small woodies too. :)

I dont know if I consider any 4000+ foot coaster small.

Raven sure, but none of the GCI's are small and Legend surely isn't small.

------------------
If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.

Ozark is small and it is a GCI, it is shorter than Raven in both terms. 80' tall and 2600' long.
I think Legen is pushing it, Lets say, shorter than 100' tall lift, and shorter than 3000' feet.

Dont remember some of the old small woodies...My favorite is Yankee Cannonball...As you can see in my top ten its high up there...

Yeah, Yankee Cannonball rules! You would never expect it to pack the punch it does just by looking at it.

Top 3
1-S:RoS @ SFNE
2-Boulder Dash
3-Yankee Cannonball

I have to ditto the Swamp Fox at Myrtle. I've loved that thing ever since they re-opened it. Good air, nice views, and it just looks pretty. Now that is a well maintained Woodie.

Beaver, The other White meat.

Cornball Express is freaking awesome. So much airtime, laterals and just shear fun.

The woodies at Kennywood are also great little rides.
