Links to first/last pages of Recent forum topics

Whenever I click on one of the 'Recent Topics', I have to click on the topic itself, get the first page, key down to the end and then select the last page to catch the latest post.

Would it cut down on the pages served to provide a link to the last page of the thread from the 'Recent Topic' list--or is it better to encourage reading before posting?

I have wondered this for a while Playa. Seems like it would cut down on bandwith to have a direct link to the end of the topic not to mention make things easier.
