Linked Posts Arrive at 404 Error Page

This is something that I thought would eventually start working (sort of like the thread I made long ago about the text link box not appearing), but I've been having this issue since the CoasterBuzz makeover...

When anyone links to a post, I arrive at this page when clicking:

404 -Not Found

Sadly, the page you're looking for is defunct. I know, it's a bummer. The page was bought by CoasterBuzz just to close it, because it was competition to CoasterBuzz. There was a last minute deal to try and sell the page to ACE, but they claim they don't know anything about it. There are petitions underway to save it, but we don't even know who the buyer is. Sadly, it'll be just another historic page, lost.

What I've been doing is looking at the post number in the address bar of the linked 404 error page. Then, I click the "link" of a random post in the thread to find out its post number. Then, I'll count through the thread to find the post that matches the linked 404 error page.

This is so much effort that I usually skip this workaround, unless a linked post seems very vital to the discussion. Any ideas on what's wrong? I'm using Google Chrome Version 28.0.1500.95 m.

I've seen that before, and I think it's a bug in the text editor. I haven't been able to reproduce it though.
