Lines for X in early April?

The Jet Coaster, I already talked to you in IM, so don't be so worried =P

For those who don't understand, the PARK hasn't been open on those days [It just started opening daily this week, it was only open on the weekends before this week], meaning there is no way to estimate what the X lines will be like.. he is NOT saying that X will be closed / has been closed.... simply it never has run on a weekday yet that hasn't a holiday because the PARK hasn't been open, so nobody knows what the lines will be like...

Hopefully that clears things up, you almost scared the **** out of me....

I agree w/ DWeaver [yet again]. Don't go directly to X, go to the Fastlane sales center. when you enter the park, walk straight, past the Ice Cream store, the Photo Booth, and then to the right of Guest Services. Behind Guest Services is the locker rentals and to the left of the locker rentals is the Fastlane center and stroller rental. Its kind of hidden.

Still, even with Fastlane, popularity + low capacity = long waits, so be prepared for 45-60 minutes waits for X even with Fastlane.

SFDL DUDE, thx for clarifying that for THE JET. I was saying it hadnt been open on a normal weekday YET. Even this week I would not consider a NORMAL weekday, because of Spring Break. It should be interesting to see how the line is next week or the week after, when it truly is an off-season weekday.

Even though you are going during the week after Easter, you should know that not all schools in the L.A. area out on spring break the week before Easter. There are a lot who are off the week after Easter, so the weekday lines for X should be just as bad, but hopefully not as long as they apparently were last Saturday. (a 5 hour wait -- YIKES!!) I, myself, prefer to go on a Sunday - it tends to be the least crowded day of the weekend - and since I work during the week, a weeday trip is usually out of the question. My last trip to SFMM (in February on 2-10, I believe), the line for X in the morning was about an hour wait; we went on again mid-afternoon with about a 1 1/2 hour wait, and then our last ride was at closing, with about another hour wait. Go with the suggestions in the previous posts - buy a Fast Lane pass and use it strictly for X - and then take advantage of the shorter lines for the other major coasters - Goliath, Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Viper, and Deja Vu (and don't forget the other coasters too -- Colossus, Psyclone, Ninja, Superman: The Escape, Revolution, Flashback and Gold Rusher). I'm going again on April 14th so the spring break rush will be over and the hours longer (till 8:00 p.m. on Sundays).

I was there also this past saturday and I could not beleive it! We bought fastlanes, which were WELL worth the $3.75 extra per ride to NOT wait in the 3+ hour line. We walked right up to the station and still waited about 30-40 min, so I could only imagine that the line that went all the way over the bridge, turned down the stairs, and headed towards Revolution was at LEAST 5 hours. From what I could tell, they were loading one side of the station Fastlane only, the other side was the normal queue.

I also noticed parts for X's 3rd train laying out by Viper, so hopefully that should help.

The X Commercials just starting to appear on TV now here in L.A.(with daily operation starting)

Of course it is easy to do a great Commercial with X footage, but hey, they , as SFMM, did an incredible Job. Whoever lifes in L.A. and loves Coasters will be at the Mountain soon, so, as faster, quicker u can get there.. DO SO!

So while you all waited 30-45 minutes by buying fastpass the non-rich people get to wait 4 hours!! yea!!!!!! Gotta love it... (rolls eyes)

Thanks Six Flags!! We sure love you for coming up with an awesome fastpass system.

Amen to that, SFDL_Dude. It's almost as bad as that PKI 'season pass only' thing I heard about.

Less than 2 months until SFGAm opens!

There are so many discounts all over LA for SFMM, some as much as half off. So I seriously doubt very many people are paying full price to get into the park. That extra twenty dollars can go for the Fastpass. I'm ceratinly no rich guy(yet ) but feel in this case a pass is more than worth it.

There are ways to work the system, but it takes some planning. I still don't understand why people just show up at amusements parks with no planning and no stategy. You would that for a resteraunt, a ballgame or a concert. You should do that for an amusement park as well. I don't care what "pay per" nonsense a park adds, you have to find ways to maximise your time and money.

Like others have said: Dish out the cash for Fastlane, enjoy minimal waits on everything else while others are rushing to X, then ride X 4 times with your Fastlane. This is what I did in February, and it worked superbly. I rode X four times with single train operation. This is an instance where no matter what your gut reaction to Fastlane is that buying it just makes sense. You can really maximize your time with it.

If you can't afford Fastlane for everyone in your group, just buy one set of passes for every four people you're with and divide the cost. Everyone will get at least one ride for a minimum dent to the wallet.

Yeah, I think that I'm going to go with the "Fastlane First, X Later" idea. Thanks guys! :)

You can't spell my hometown's name with out "Lame"! aLAMEda...:)

It would be safe to assume that the fastlane line for X is smaller toward to latter half of the day as well. By then most people have already ridden X AND/ OR used their passes up.
