Lines for X in early April?

I'm going to SFMM on April 2nd and I'm preparing for the worst when it comes to crowds. Now I need you guys to confirm it...how long will I have to wait for X? :)

You can't spell my hometown's name with out "Lame"! aLAMEda...:)

Get there at opening and run for X. I would wager its your only chance to get anything reasonable.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

Oooh, April 2nd! That's the very day I'm going to SFMM also.

I've discovered that the Los Angeles public schools have Spring Break THIS week, and they're back in school April 1-5 (bwa ha ha ha we rule!). Therefore, crowds should be much lighter without those schoolers.

I'm going to be wearing my Holiday World Legend shirt and be at the park around 9:30 to race for X. If you find me, say hello. :)

I'm also going to KBF and DCA that week (April 1-7), any recommendations from locals?

What will the wait time be for X in April? Since I cannot predict the future, allow me to consult The Magic 8-Ball...

"Oh wise and powerful Magic 8-Ball, will the lines for X be long on April 2nd?"

Magic 8-Ball responded "Absolutely." So there you have it. Magic 8-Ball is never wrong!

Seriously, how are we supposed to know? Your guess is as good as anyone's.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

Jet Coaster, I'm going to DCA and DL the following 2 days. Maybe I'll see ya there!

-sarcasm on-

Well, based on last April's wait- be prepared to wait. It took eight months to get on the ride.

-sarcasm off-

Seriously, noone knows what the line will be like at any particular ride on any particular day at any particular hour until that day/hour.

There have been countless topics on this subject and it always comes down to the fact that you have a 50-50 chance that the line will either be long or short.

redman822: Why do you need to reinvent the wheel and waste bandwidth for basically what Soggy just said?

Perhaps you guys could have contributed information like L.A. public schools spring breaks, special events, etc. etc. that might have an influence on the park crowd.

I went SFMM in early March and X was the ride I went on first, and the wait was nearly 4 hours. If the line starts at the entrace to X than its only about 2 hours. If you are getting in line by the Panda Express than you better be prepared to wait about 4 hours. I just went last weekend to and the lines were the same so I didn't even ride X. Well have fun anyways.

because I started my reply before Soggy's was posted but had to walk away from my machine - (there's more to life than the internet and posting here - at least for me there is) and by the time I finished my post Soggy had posted his message.

Get over it.

alex:

Was that on a weekend (The March line), or a weekday?

April 2nd is a Tuesday.

Run to the ride. If line is short, wait. If line is long, buy FastLane. When I went on the 16th, I chose the FastLane option. Wait was approx. 3-4 hours, stretching through entire queue line area, across bridge to ride, around corner, and down some stairs. But if you can't get the FastLane, wait anyway. It IS worth it, if you will not have another chance to ride soon.

I'll might be there too w/ my brother that day... running to X in the morning of course.....
X has not operated on a non-weekend, non-holiday, off-season operating day yet, so it's anybody's guess. However, even with short(er) lines, it is THE main draw and EVERYONE goes to it. I would get there early and RUN for it. If the line is short and reasonable after that, ride it many many many more times and boast about it later.

My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

I was SFMM on 3/17. We arrived at 9am and waited for the gates to open. When the main gates openend, we ran with the crowd, up the hill and across the bridge to wait another hour outside the queue lines since it was even opened yet. Later, we waited 1.5 hours. It doesn't matter how long you have to wait. This ride is worth waiting for.

LoadedG: WHAT! So that means on Tuesday, April 2, X won't be open!?!?!

Will Johansson

I really hate to say this because I more than anyone understands that money doesn't grow on trees, but I would recommend the following: When the gates open, and everyone is running for X and wearing themselves out(it's quite a uphill battle to get to the ride), RUN to Fastlane. Yeah I know, but hear me out. It's worth it to spend the $20 because while everyone else is running to a ride that may or may not open on time, you'll be getting empty lines for Goliath, Riddler's and Batman. The Fastpass line has been significantly shorter than the regular one, even mid-day.

-----------------
Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?

I agree. This is jsut about the only case I think I would use Fast Pass.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

Alright, I am planning a trip to Magic Mountain for this week. Do people think the crowds will be heavier on weekdays, while LAUSD is off school or on Easter.
