I went to CP for the first time this summer on a Saturday in July so of course the lines were crazy and the park packed, but thank goodness I ran like the wind with my family to MF first and walked right on believe it or not, when I got off there was like an hour wait already! Plus it WAS 107F that day and I was miserable especially when I had to wait 2 1/2 hours on Mantis/ longest wait of the day, and it turned out to be horrible, not the ride layout but the break on the first drop! Some good advice, rides like Gemini and Corkscrew have nobody waiting in them at all and they turned out to be 2 of my favorite rides of the day! great airtime on both and my family and I were almost the only ones in the car, it rocked!

Yeah, if you go to CP during the mid-summer on a weekend, there is a good chance you'll wait in line for a while, but at least the line moves pretty rapidly.
P.S. TR:TR2002, I was there everyday this summer and I can tell you it was never 107 in Sandusky this summer. In fact, Sandusky's all time record high is 105 according to weather.com. I agree that it can get hot, but just be glad you're riding and not working as hard as you can to push a bunch of ungrateful guests through the lines as fast as we possibly can. (although 99% of guests are very appreciative of the work we do there's always a few...)

According to weather.com http://www.weather.com/weather/climatology/USOH0855.htm?dayofyear=195 the all-time record high for July 15th was 97° in 1974. Check it for yourself.
Also, there is another site, www.wunderground.com that has historical weather information they have Toledo and CLeveland. Granted, they are both an hour away, but according to the site, 7/15/2001 had a high of 85 in Toledo http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KTDZ/2001/7/15/DailyHistory.html and 89 in Cleveland http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KCLE/2001/7/15/DailyHistory.html I find it (extremely) hard to believe that it could have been 15 degrees warmer at CP when it lies in-between both locations.

Lines at amusement parks tend to fluctuate due to the time of year, weather, number of trains running etc...
So, believe it or not, getting into a pissing match of "CP LINES SUCK!!" and "CP'S LINES ARE GREAT!!!" is just not going to do much good.
Overall, I know CP keeps their operations as high as possible for everything, but I don't know why there can be lines over 2 or even 1 hour because of all the ride ops, capacity, and rides they have. It either means that most people only really like to go on particular rides(say MF, Magnum, Raptor, PT, and Mantis) which is why they're so popular and the flat rides aren't that busy or something else. Can someone help me on this one? Maybe I always go on busy days. I assume Mean Streak doesn't have lines out the entrance every day. Come to think of it, MF has never been the longest wait when I've been to the park. I think I'd five that award to Mantis. In its fifth year, the lines were still over 2 and 1/2 hours long on a Saturday. Hmm....

Here in Florida, lines can get real bad but if you plan things the right way in advance you can do all you want with minimal waits. The key to all this is planning.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

" All of CP's major coasters are capable of handling between 15,000 and 20,000 guests per day (2001 high for Magnum was 23,094 on a Saturday in June with no downtime and no setups).
Wow... 23,094 guests on Magnum, in a day is pretty darn good... perhaps it could have be the great, fast moving crew. :)
Koaster King, The reason why Cedar Point operations is running at tops all the time and there is still long waits is because they do pump more people through the rides during a hour, so those people get off and ride something else. Despite whether rides are running at tops, if you have 30,000 people in a park, it is just a matter of distribution.
