Lines at CP

Why are so many people complaining about the lines at CP? They don't seem any different from most large parks I've been to.

Last time there I waited 45 minutes for MF (which was the longest wait at the park), during its opening year! In June! And the lines are always moving quickly. It seems to me that many complaints may come from those who visit the park only on weekends or holidays, or opening day. IMO, you have to expect long lines anywhere when you do this.

Either that or I've been extremely lucky for many, many years.

People just have different experiences.  I went on a tuesday in May and the lines were hella long!!!
Yeah, its different from day to day, as it is with any park.  I remember one year on the day after coastermania (it was the year with the great ERT on mean streak, 97) the lines were just miserable.  Huge waits for everything, even in the early morning.  I think one big factor is if those big travel busses are there at CP.  If they start rolling up....you're dead.

Granted, I've had several, excellent days at CP with short lines.

Don't you hate that???  Your driving on the interstate and you're praying that the all these tour buses are not getting off at the same exit!!  Damn camp kids!!!

Baby, I'm not always there when you call, but I'm always on time.
CP lines suck.  I only visit that place in October b/c of their ridiculous lines.  I wonder how many miles long the MF queue line is?
CP has the best capacity and lines around. LTLWcdYbe, try 15 min lines for every coaster and 30-45 for MF on a normal weekday.

"Well I heard that guys with long signatures are just trying to make up for a shortage in their pants..."
I've never had to wait more than hour for any ride at CP, including MF. Even after going on weekends. CP absoloutely - without a doubt - has the quickest moving lines out of any park. No Question - No Debate ! They do it RIGHT!!

I'm sure there are instances when queue lines at CP do get long, but my point is that the lines continually move b/c of they run 3 trains.

In comparison, Almost everytime I go to a Six Flags or Paramount park, there has always, repeat Always, been extremely long waits. I don't see any debate on here about those parks and what their deal is. I guess it's because they don't know how to run 3 trains.

I can't be convinced otherwise, CP is tops in line movement.

45 minutes for millennium force OPENING year???? Umm...no!  Try like four hours unless you got to the park and waited around before it opened and ran like hell to an already partialy full queue from hotel guests.

"you give me the most gorgeous sleep that i've ever had and when it's really bad i guess it's not that bad" Underneath it all- no doubt
I waited 45 minutes multiple times for Millennium Force in the 2000 season... it just all depends how big the crowds are, and when you get in line.

um www.cedarpoint.com might be a good place to start.

Father Lucifer, you never looked so sane. You did always did prefer the drizzle to the rain

Whatever! The longest MF's liines were on Media Day and Opening Day in 2000. Those days the lines were possibly 4-5 hours, but any other day didn't get that close. Most Saturdays were 2 1/2 - 3 hour waits at the most, and 1 - 2 hours waits during the weekdays.

Mayday - Memorial Day Weekend - Nonpoint, Nickelback, Oleander, Staind
Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

...I think he meant GTTP, ravenguy_98...

CP lines are the worst!! Nothing sucks more than standing in line for 2 hrs in 110 degree heat with no shade!! They need to fix that problem...
Dude, what are you smoking? All the big coasters had shade in the form of trees, or those tent/tarp shades. MF has the most of those, and you stay pretty cool under them. And when was the last time it got up to 110 At Cedar Point?

310ftdrop,
CP lines are not the worst! Hello...do you go to other parks? Do you have anything to compare? Clearly if you think that Sandusky gets 110 you clearly don't have a clue.
well ioa and disney are alot worse than cp. The most i have ever had to wait was 1 hour for raptor and the longest i had to wait for mf in the 2000 year was 45 minutes
LTLWcbYbe, Your kidding right? I visited the park 18 times this year. The longest I have ever waited was 1.5 hours. Also, I should mention out of those 18 times, 8 were on Saturdays and Sundays in June and July. I *think* the longest Millennium Force's line got this year was just over 3 hours. On my 100+ rides aboard the Magnum XL-200 this year, the longest I waited was 30 mins.

amusementparkfanatic85, Funny, for my first ride on the Force in 2000(July 22, 2000) I waited 50 mins. Other than opening weekend, the line never got up to the four-hour mark.

amusementparkfanatic85: "Try like four hours unless you got to the park and waited around before it opened and ran like hell to an already partialy full queue from hotel guests. "

Funny, EVERYONE in the past, was allowed in at the same time it didn't matter if you were a resort guest or not EVERYONE was let in at the same time. In the past, Cedar Point has never let "resort" guests earlier.

Generally speaking, you may find lines alittle bit longer than a local park, since Cedar Point is in between a regoinal park and a resort place. Look at Disney, people take time off work to go to the park, so unlike a local park, Disney is busy during the week too. The same is starting to happen for Cedar Point. The park is getting well-known and bigger each year, thus people are turning their one day visit to Cedar Point into a long stay.
