Let me have your thoughts on SIX FLAGS KENTUCKY KI

1) I'm sorry, but the majority of the GP can give two cents about checking lap bars, or there would be more complaints in the box. And 2) I am the problem, but found a solution to get my buns in the car pointed in the direction of Santa Claus.

The park was (trying not to be negative) Interesting. Yeah, that's it. Thunder Run absolutely kicked butt. But, without a doubt the strangest park I've ever been to.

Ten reasons why:

1. Located in the middle of the State Fairgrounds, parking is only $3, and its Six Flags. 2. Waterpark in the middle of the whole place. 3. Walkway across a road to get to the other side of the park. 4. T2 (Vekoma SLC) provided chest banging, not head banging. 5. I actually forgot they had a CCI woodie! 6. There were more people in the waterpark than in the amusement park. 7. One of the few times I actually said "Owwwwwwch" on a B&M. 8. Met someone there who lived near me in MD, and they said they had never been to SFA. 9. Thunder Run has a shop in the center of the structure. 10. The first time I didn't feel bad about calling a park "ghetto".

The parking is 3 dollars because Six Flags does not own the parking lot. The state does.

The road is not going anywhere and theer is nothign that can be done about that.

Brent, there are a few things SFKK *could* do about the road, primarily giving patrons another option to the marathon across the road. For such a small road, they certainly have managed to make it quite the pain to get across...;)

A small chairlift-type skyride across the road(think DW/IB) would be awesome....:). Oh, and maybe just another short bridge, a little closer towards TT/TS...then the road would be just an interesting quirk to the park, instead of being a pain in the butt like it is now...;)

edit: Since it's March, and we're talking SFKK, I feel obligated to mention that Freedom Hall (the arena right there on the grounds) houses 2 NCAA Championship banners ('80 and '86 I think)...I'll keep you posted on interesting hoops tidbits from now until the Championship, almost *as if* you really cared...

You know, 'gator, that if you keep up all of this NCAA hoops stuff, you'll force me to reciprocate. I'll have to subject the boards to as much Stanley Cup trivia and tibits as I can come the April-June time frame.

Later,

Puhlease don't get me started on NCAA and Stanley Cup trivia, you'll both drill me, but would love to participate! See how long those topics stay open, though ')

Stanley Cup, EV?...Never heard of him....Stanley Kubrick on the other hand...;) Hackey and Bowling are probably my two least-favorite "sports"...sorry Brent, Nascar is NOT a sport...;)

But I *do* think those are darn fine suggestions for SFKK...don't laugh, they took up my offer of Viper...:)

For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents:

The only ride worth going for is Chang. One of the best stand-ups around. Other than that I found all the other coasters to be: boring, slow, head-banging, etc., etc., etc. And this includes TR which I was looking forward to riding but found to be very boring with no air anywhere; at least when we rode it. And we rode several times in differing seats.

As for the park itself, the layout is horrid. Trying to get from the front of the park to the back on that one lone bridge is ridiculous. It was very frustrating when people would stop on the bridge blocking it for other people trying to cross. Also, the park is dirty and don't even get me started on the bathrooms.

As for the employees, they all seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. They couldn't care less about their job or the enjoyment of the patrons.

We vowed that we'd only return if they put in something major. Like a one-of-a-kind coaster.

If you happen to be in the area, have never been there, and want to add to your count, then it's worth going. Other then that: forget it.
