Layouts previews of Thunderhead on GCI Website.

How long until opening day already! After OZ Wildcats performance afew weeks ago, there is no doubt in my mind that this thing is going to be simply amazing.

Ya' know what's wierd? To me , even though there is no banking, it doesn't look painful to me. Looks like a CCI creation.

Btw , Oz Cat is the best abbreviation for a coaster ever.

I'm so friggin' sick of people who think the Crystal beach Cyclone would have been a great coaster. Woohoo ! I just rode this great ride , and Now My arm is broken and my tailbone is Bruised!

There IS Banking, the GCI Computer just does not process it.

Oh , sorry for any confusion , I meant No banking in the image. My mistake. :)

Hey, sorry if this is violating the rules , but here is my recreation here.

Looks pretty boring to tell the truth. Seems like no parks as of late are building any coasters that look like they have any airtime spots.
But its a GCI, They are built with Horizontal air time....

Too bad impuls, if you have ridden Oz Cat at Celebration City, you would agree, there is nothing boring about these new coasters.

Maybe they should have Badnitrus render 'em, eh? ;)

You suck big time.

Looks awesome! This ride will be a sight to see when it opens. What can I say-Dollywood is getting a winner from what I can see. I see two headchoppers and a few bunny hops, plus the 'fly-through' station element and the lift hill crossover. It looks really tall and long (something new to DW-a long-coaster!)

Thunderhead comes to Dollywood in 2004!

Looks to be fun! As for the name, I think Graham Norton left a bit of an influence during his visit...

You aren't the only one Jeff. I thought the same thing when I heard the name of it. It looks like it will be a pretty cool addition to Dollywood. I live in TN and have never been there. Go figure. I spend my riding time at CP every summer. I'll probably make the trip to Dollywood next season as well.

You should really consider visiting Dollywood Sometime. It's a great little park with friendly Employees and Nice Landscaping, in some ways better than BGW.

Anyone besides me sick of coasters named Thunder_____ or Timber_____? How do we keep them all sorted out in our minds and track records.

Beware of Kiddie Coasters

Ok, I will pretend to be happy for DW and have a nice smile on my face showing that I am [u]really really happy for them -- but inside I'm cursing them for stealing what should have been SDC's coaster. Darn you Smoky Mt people! ;)

kneemeister.....it ain't just the coasters, but the abundance of flats with those same bunch of names....thankfully, most of them have proven to be *great* rides....:)

I look forward to Thunderhead....hehe....nice name...:)

Hey, Swoosh,

We blame SDC because they have a B&M, and we don't! We just get stuck with this! :)

Wow! That looks like an amazing layout! I think that just about solidifies a visit to Dollywood for me next summer.

It's coming Aug 18th, and your 2004 will never be the same!

MEEEE TOOOOO (and I'm talking in a Southern accent there), Moosh. I wanted to make a trip there since I heard the announcement, now seeing the layout makes me feel less guilty about making an "indulgence."

We were planning on going to Gatlinburg at Christmas, but this has changed my mind, this looks awesome! We'll wait until late-spring at least.
Well it just urks me that I am going to be "forced" to take a trip to Dollyworld next season - darn my woodie lovin' fiancee [insert joke here ;)]

Maybe I'm not looking at the renderings correctly, but it looks more like a wooden mine-train than anything else. Very little in the way of hills or even fan-turns. Not that that's bad.

I agree.... however....

If you'll recall the renderings of OzCat... they were none too impressive. However, the final product is poetry in wood. So I would say wait to judge the layout till you see the final coaster, or at least the inevidible wooden model, because I would bet money they're built to impress.
