Laser´s fate

While Revolution was certainly no Anton, it WAS one of, if not the best, inverting Arrows of its generation...who knows what it will be like if/when it ever gets reconstructed.

Beech Bend - didn't I hear somewhere they were looking to replace that horrendous Looping Star? Something like Laser would be a very apt substitute...

But if you think I'm going to argue that increased height makes a ride better, you're looking at the WRONG guy... ;)

Oh good grief no, I'm not exactly a fan of Top Thrill Disaster or Kingda Krap. The point is though that on the whole the US has a better coaster selection than anywhere else in the world - though we still have Olympia Looping over here, which makes up for everything :)

I thought you preferred in Pteranodon Flyers :)

I know you've mentioned that before, and I'm curious to know if you've ridden Steamin' Demon at The Great Escape, and how they compare, since they are pretty much twins. I thought Demon was your typical Arrow clunker.

^Jeff, I've ridden pretty much every inverting Arrow here in the States...some are clearly smoother, some clearly worse. I shed no tears over the loss of BGA's Python, it ran...very poorly (had to refrain from using profanity to describe it more accurately, LOL). Steamin' Demon was no gem to be sure, but still way better than, say, MiA's Corkscrew or that horrid Corkscrew at PNE, or even that extremely brutal OE at WoF (rest in pieces you hateful PoS!)... ;)

Just to show that I'm picky and not just hateful, LOL...good ones included Canobie's, Demon at SFGAm (the better of the two), Adventuredome's CB, and Carolina Cyclone. I'm not saying any of them will make my top-ten lists, but they were at least noticeably smoother than the average...

As with all rides, mileage can vary considerably...the only one I've had more than a couple laps on was BGA's. That ride's better off as someone's front bumper. ;)

Just glad to see SOMEBODY show my home park (Canobie) a bit of love. First time I rode the Canobie Cork, it gave me a headach for a day. (First looper and I was only 12 at the time.)

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

Quick! Somebody call the newspaper in Allentown -- a reporter called me this morning to check out a rumor he'd seen online that it was coming here.

I chortled in an unprofessional manner and then choked out, "I cannot confirm or deny."

Laser at HW!! Awesome! ;)
You could actually grow old waiting on Laser's lift hill!

Jo- You are so right about growing old on the lift. I got my first ride on Laser this past Sat. and this ride is a far cry from its almost twin, Colossus at Lagoon. The loops are still intense but the one at Lagoon runs much better and it has the extra helix at the end of the ride.

^Colossus was absolutely NUTS. Lagoon totally ROCKS...two Antons in the same park way out in SLC (the good kind of SLC, hehe).
You know.... Will Koch is a German showmen, if you think about it. Paula has been talking about a new way of getting from here to there, and Laser's lift took FOREVER. However she has also talked about diving and eluded to water. We know there will be more than one attraction. So its possible that HW might be getting Laser and a tall racing waterslide. Thinking about the Gravity Group reference. A few years ago they designed the Triton complex at Mt. Olympus. I'm just saying I would not rule out Laser, or that this expansion could be huge. In my opinion their teasing almost as much as they did for Voyage, and their motto has always been Under Promise, Over Deliver.

Mind you, even a tiny difference, such as that between 0 and 0.000126, can make a world of difference.
