Landscape

I want to make a park, not a massive one, not a little one. about 150 x 150 but would like a nice landscape to start with.

Just a plain grassy hilled landsacpe maybe with a bit of a pond or something similar, i've tried making my own and they all look rather noobish!!!

Any ideas...places to look etc?

I dunno, I really find that the best idea is to just start off with a totally flat landscape and to build the landscape to suit the rides, if you know what I mean. I use a trainer, e.g. 8 cars, to create the hills and lakes etc. as I go, to compliment the rides and the coasters as I build them in, or to just to add to the feel of the park and fill up space.

That's the way I do it and it works well for me, so perhaps you could try that?

Not a big fan of 8cars, and just dragging up hills and down lakes seems a bit boring, just wondering if anyone had any pre-built landscapes.

thanks anyway though

Well I would suggest that you down load a park from the games section and the edit it in the senario editor. I would even offer you the use of my files over there, but I just noticed you zeroed one of my parks so you wouldn't be interested.

If you do use someones park you will lose all the rides but you'll have a decent work bench to start from.

i changed the zero, i'm not one to do spite 0 ratings...except for andy's latest upload which deserves one.

thanks for the idea.

That's appreciated. Zeroes are still taboo over there if they're not explained. Since I'm not a member I couldn't ask your reasons. I still keep tabs on my files there though.
Well, uh, Ross...your personality deserves a zero so there! :P

One thing you may not have thought to try is using the "load landscape" option in the scenario editor. You can import the landscape and scenery from any scenario, saved game, etc. There are several in-game scenarios that have decent landscapes in my opinion.

Once it is in the editor, you can do whatever you want with it, including changing the size, although you have to keep in mind that the park will expand "towards" you and shrink "away" from you, so you may have to rotate the landscape to change the size in the way you want. I don't know if I explained that clearly enough, but if not, I'm sure you'll figure it out on your own. Hope this helps.

SWEET I didn't ever know this site had a forums section!(i know I'm an idiot) I didn't know I could comment not being a member either. On the subject of landscapes: Try making different sections: like a mountain area and a big lake, ect. Can't really give much advise for a park since i've never done any. You could build coasters and then make the landscape to make them look better.
A man, I thought we'd got rid of you :/
hahahaha! that is impossible. Wow i'm sorry, I didn't know this site was strictly for ages 20+. jk. Well I know you are annoyed by me ross so I hope you enjoyed your time when I was gone. ;)
This site has a forums section?!? Holy crap, and all this time I've been relying on Playa to make rapid-fire posts to get some different threads on the homepage. Wow!
