Lakemont Mad Mouse

A friend asked me to see if anyone here knew anything about this;

He was just at job training in Altoona and dropped by Lakemont for a few quick rides and noticed their Mad Mouse was gone. How long has it been gone and does anyone know why it went, where it is now, etc?

It was removed this winter. Its in my storage. No plans.

BUMMER! It was closed when we went the day after PPP last year for the event...:(
RCDB says it was removed in 2003 and sold to a carnival operator.

Actually, I was talking to Duane (he is RCDB) a month or so ago. (mostly because RCDB said the coaster was still there and I was rather surprised to find it gone ;) )

Straight from Duane's mouth (errr, keyboard):

"I'm told they sold it to a carnival operator that is new to rides so this Mad Mouse will be his first roller coaster. I'm a bit confused why the park sold it. The operator of the Little Leaper mentioned something about an accident on another wild mouse at a nearby fair or something."

Take that for what you will.

Well, I'm sad to see a coaster not operating, but maybe they could work out some of those turns. Oiich! That was one rough mouse!
Too bad. Looked like a fun little ride. I guess that means the Toboggan is now their only steel coaster?
Steel torture machine is a better description.

There's always the kiddie coaster :)

Lakemont's wasn't a good ride? The one that was at J's Amusement Park was a great little coaster and I'm sure it didn't get as much care as the one at Lakemont. *** Edited 7/7/2004 12:33:28 AM UTC by GoliathKills***
I wasn't refering to the Mad Mouse. I was talking about the Chance Toboggan.

The only thing a Chance Toboggan is good for is a credit...and even at that, it's dicey...;)

But...Lakemont ROCKS! There's just nothing like riding a coaster that's passed its 100th birthday (L-t-D, that is, ;))...just be sure to wear a cumberbund, or bloomers for the ladies...:)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Depends on how much you want that credit!

Gator - you have not ridden Little A-Merrick-A's Chance Toboggan.

Best. Toboggan. EVAH!

Right, Zingo? ;)

For sure the best RIDE on a toboggan, yes, but I think that had more to do with the company I went to the park with... ;)

Dammit...where's that blush emoticon when you need it? ;)
I really hope they hosed out that car afterwards . . :)

If you knew how small those Toboggan cars are you'll know we did not ride it together!
Solo action!

Admittedly, it's been a while since my last Toboggan ride, but I do remember squeezing into a car with a young lady for at least one ride. It was um, intimate. ;)

LOL TCKR! Well that was before Zingo! and I knew how the other felt so even if we had ridden together nothing would have happened. But you could say we made up for lost time on our last Zipper ride ;)
