Well as we have just finished up labor day which means it was the unofficial ending to summer 2002. Also this means most parks switch to weekend only operation and events start winding down and parks begin to close up pretty soon. But as far as summer goes in the parks, how did everyone's go?
My summer consisted of many trips to SFSTL plus one more for Fright Fest, and a huge trip to Cedar Point which I loved!

87 different coasters for this year and counting... 149 total!
My 2002 season was a sucsess. To start it off was Stark Raven Mad at Holiday World first time to the event, I had a blast gurentee I will return to the event for 2003. It was nice to meet a lot of coaster enthusiasts there. ERT on the Legend & Raven were great!
Next was my first visit to Indiana Beach realy enjoyed the park. Cornball Express & Hoosire Hurricane were the best ever.
Not to forget coastermainia at Cedar Point for the 1st time. Realy enjoyed the Raptor flights in the morning. Gurantee I will return to the point for my traditional visit to Cedar Point.
Also not to mention the PKI CoasterbuzzCon was a blast. Tomb Raider The Ride was one of the best, not to mention my first night rides on The Beast. Also nice to meet a lot of coasterbuzzer's.
Made some returns to Six Flags WoA 4th visit & Great America 4th visit, Michigans Adventure, Kennywood.
I'd say 2002 season was a sucess. 2003 will be even better because I'm planning visits to BGW & Kings Dominion along with Six Flags Great Adventure.
To close my 2002 season I made a final coaster trip to Six Flags Great America and will return next year.

I had a pretty good summer, too. But it could have been better if my wife/sometime riding partner had been able to go along with (she is pregnant - due in November).
My trips this year were to LasVegas, SFEG, HW, SFGAm, CP (Coastermania), Kennywood, SFWyandot, PKI, Americana/LL, SFWoA, SFMW, IB, SFStL for a total of 72 coasters this season...the coaster count could have been higher but TFC at SFEG, WT at CP were closed for maintenance and some contruction worker doofus near SFWoA cut a power line that fed the park and it closed for the day at 11am.
I'd like to say I'll hit that many parks/rides next year but with a newborn baby on the horizon, that won't be the case for a few years (I am looking forward to the day of having a young ride partner. )

EDIT: Forgot SFMW...D'oh!

Spent the day at the homepark. We were treated to near walk-ons, and I had the pleasure of meeting a CBuzzer- KicksTheSky.-----------------
Actually that was KickTheSky :) There is a huge difference between the two. Trust me!

I had a great summer coaster-wise too, although I only went to two parks: Cedar Point and my homepark, Six Flags Great America.
Coasters: one lap each on Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, Gemini, Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, and Whizzer.
And I'll have RCT2 to help me get through the off-season...

I'd count this year as a banner year for myself. First time season pass holder for CP (I live 410 miles away from it too.) and I visited the park 10 times so far. I plan to hit it about 4 more visits too! Got to do the CoasterBuzzCon thing at PKI. Had a blast on the flyers, met some great people and realized "Hey, your not the only person in this world that is a amusement park junkie!". (Night time ERT at PKI and the "added perks" at the end of the night were just the icing on the cake as well!) I haven't visited one single SF park this summer for some strange reason. I usually by a season pass to SFKK and hit it at least 5 or 6 times but this year I opted to spend the extra $$ and take on a different park. (although I still do have a single day admission ticket sitting here on my desk that needs to be "burned up" before the end of the season!) And one of the major highlights of the summer was just this past week when I went to CP and got to fly over the park and take pictures/video. That was just the best. :)

1 Day, 4 Planes, A whole New World. 9/11/01
I've had a great season so far visiting many new-to me parks and making a bunch of return visits to old favorites although I've begun to simmer down with my coaster enthusiasm and don't really check out Coasterbuzz or r.r-c too often any more....

I just feel as if I've accomplished almost everything I've wanted to here in the 'states, and at this point there's nothing I'm really looking forward to that's on the horizon. Several of my contacts have left the industry, many of the companies and parks are in some sort of financial trouble (ie. bankruptcy, restructing, etc) and it just seems like a "down" time for the industry as a whole.
Many people take this "hobby" way too seriously anymore. Getting into fights with their families over a stupid rollercoaster, breaking up with loved ones, and just spending waaay too much time on something that started as a fun hobby, and has now turned into an obession. It's a bit nutty, in my opinion.
I can't even really say if I'll be back here when spring rolls around and the parks open again. If any of you ever make it down to Orlando though, I'm transferring from my local Busch park here in Pennsylvania to work as an assistant manager for Guest Relations at the three Orlando Anheuser Busch parks (Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Sea World Orlando). I'm starting the University of Tampa in the spring and I'll have an apartment in Orlando, feel free to look me up if you make it down this way!

Ok, park tally for the year: Disney's California Adventure 3 times, Disneyland 2 times, Knott's Berry Farm 2 times, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Legoland, Belmont Park, Astroland, Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, SFGAd 10 times, SFA, SFNE 2 times, Knoebels 3 times, Dorney 2 times, Hersheypark 2 times, Kennywood, SFWoA, La Ronde, The Great Escape, Indiana Beach, Michigan's Tackyla...I mean, Adventure, Cedar Point 2 times, Rye Playland, Paramount's Kings Dominion, Lake Compounce, Sea World Orlando, Disney's Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Islands of Adventure, Disney Studios, Blizzard Beach, and the Magic Kingdom.
31 parks, 12 states, 50 times, 5 months. Not too shabby! :)
I may visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg next Saturday and, as far as this Saturday goes...well who knows? It depends on my mood I suppose. I'm not "officially" doing Oc-Boulder-Fest, Coaster Celebration, or Coaster Zombies Invade SFA this year because of the possibility I maybe scheduled to work those days but I will be making a concerted effort to get to PPP and spend two days there as it may be my last event as an "enthusiast". We'll see how everything goes by then.
Take care everyone, and come visit me in Florida this winter!

I think we had a good year so far considering we have a three old and can't just pick up and go whenever we want.
CP (3x including Coastermania), SFWoA (3x), Kennywood (2x including Kennykon), Conneaut Lake Park, Lakemont Park, Kings Dominion, SFA, Holiday World (first SRM), and SFoG.
We still have Erieview this Sunday, Phantom's Fright Nights at Kennywood, Halloweekends at CP, Halloween Horror Nights at IOA, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and PPP at Knoebel's.

I increased my coaster count from 40 or so, to 74. I'm not done yet either. There is at least one more park we are hitting this year. Possibly more before the year is out, a few year round parks in the FL area.
I am actually getting excited about the fall. Going to amusement parks in the fall is my favorite time to go. I am very lucky to have been able to get everything I have this summer. I had a great summer.

This has been a really great year for me.
I got to go to a lot of parks, and had a ton of fun with family and friends.
I didn't get to do everything I wanted to, but "there's always next year."
I've still got three trips planned before it's all over, so I still have some coaster-related things to look forward to.
