Knott's WindSeeker getting evac platform

I looked at the picture and I cannot for the life of me understand how that triangular truss thing is supposed to rescue people trapped on Windseeker.

Step 1: Assemble evacuation platform.
Step 2: ??
Step 3: Profit!

^"Underpants!" is esp. appropriate considering the height of the ummmm, "evacuation." ;~)

It's actually pretty simply. It winches itself up the column, lining up the basket with a seat. The basket surrounds the seat, the maintenance man in the basket unlocks the seat and the riders step into the basket, then they lower the basket. It wouldn't surprise me if it takes two or three hours to evacuate a fully loaded ride.

I think once the basket is in place, the maintenance worker should just be able to eject the guests from their seats into the basket. So long as the guest lands squarely in the basket, the maintenance worker gets a prize. Fun for everyone, I'm sure! ;-)

The evac platform seems like it evacuates 4 riders at a time. That means it would make 16 trips up the tower for a fully loaded Windseeker. If each trip takes about 5 min., evacuation should be completed in 90 min. or less.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

5 minutes per trip seems optimistic to me

Like in a dream world, five minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to safety tether riders to something before they let em jump from their seat to a basket. Add ten minutes.
I think this is all in a plan to keep insurance rates from going sky high. "See? No worries, we have an evac plan..."
The first one from here to see em use it WINS!

Hmm, so maybe that dream I had before Windseeker opened, about being given a nicely packed chute, and having to base jump from the top, isn't so far off now?

For an up charge.

Careful when talking about Windseekers and nicely packed chutes.

I don't think a safety tether is necessary, that is the whole point behind the tall cage and why I think evac will be fairly efficient.
