Six Flags New England gets approval for 385-foot Star Flyer

The Agawam Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously Monday to grant the special permit Six Flags New England needs to build the highest swing-set ride in the world at its amusement park on Main Street. ...aaaand that's why I play the wimp card and don't ride either. Win/win.

I'm sure you're exactly correctly, Dave. As far as SFs being scarier than WSs, that's where the psychological factor comes in. It feels and looks scarier, therefore it is scarier, regardless of the logic involved.

Because frankly, there is not that much difference between 301 feet and 385 feet. I wouldn't want to plummet from either one.

See, that's why I think I'd prefer the Star Flyer. I'd have an extra 84 feet of reaction time to open my chute.

Height doesn't matter with Superman. He's going to wait until the last second anyway because it makes for the more dramatic scene.
