Knott's Silver Bullet

Thanks for that link. Looks pretty badass!
Two things:

- I love how they placed the Cobra so close to the entrance. You gotta love Cedar Fair's need to put the Inverteds near the entrance.

- From the fact sheet, it seemed as though the overbanked turn counted as one of the inversions, however, after looking at the layout there are 2 flat spins. I may not love the colors, but the layout's pretty cool.

I wonder why they used an old picture for the rendering. Jaguar! is not even in the picture. Also I wonder if they will be taking out some of the theatre there at the entrance as it appears there will be footers there now. I would think that having a coaster go zooming by the theatre would make it hard to hear the show, not to mention that it would be distracting.

Do we know for sure if that's the color scheme, or, rather, a scheme used for the rendering to make it stand out? Some silver in Silver Bullet would be a nice touch, but Cedar Fair doesn't gravitate toward anything less than eye-catching color schemes.

Just used for rendering...
"Chrome plated and floorless, Silver Bullet promises to be a blast" as the article states. Why would they call something "Silver" Bullet and paint it yellow?

"Chrome-plated and floorless"???

Better make Ray-Bans standard issue for the ride-ops....

For the same reason they named their woodie "Ghostrider" but didn't make the coaster invisible?

Seriously tho--wouldn't you think the trains would be the 'bullets' here? They move fast while the track and supports just stand there.

Yeah, I'm not too big on the logo either, but whatever. Everything I've seen and heard about the ride makes me think it could be one of the best B&M Inverted Coasters yet, and thats what counts.

Ok, don't you think your jumpin the gun just a tad with a statement like that?>

Not at all. Read my words carefully.

"Everthing I've seen and heard about the ride"

Based on the layout and my knowledge of the way that Silver Bullet will interact with its surroundings. The fact that a lot of it is over the water weaving over pathways and other rides sounds cool to me.

"makes me think it could be one of the best B&M inverted coasters yet."

Now look very carefully. I said that I THINK it could be one of the best. I'm not declaring it the best coaster ever. You never know that before you ride it. I'm saying that from my current knowledge of the ride, it looks very good and it has the POTENTIAL to be one of the best inverted coasters out there.

And that, my friend does not constitute jumping the gun.

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

I'm with Matt on this one.

The overbank turn into the cobra roll could be awesome if taken with some pace...aka Mille turn 1.

And the wingover into the double helix (Raptor) is my favorite invert finale out there.

Now if the first drop has the high-banked swing-out before the drop (Raptor), then we're in business.

Back Left Seat anyone? :) *** Edited 12/2/2003 7:11:43 PM UTC by Coaster Joe***

Does anyone here notice that it's going to be a floorless roller coaster instead if a inverted roller coaster?

The future is in your hands!
Inverted--but then again, they don't really have a floor, do they?

I don't know 'bout this layout. When I see it, I get the impression it 'Raptors' around a bit to get Chosen Element A or B in the 'right' spot. Inverted overbanked turns? Ice Dragon's first element after the drop--or did everyone nod off? Thought so.

Then again, I'm very, very partial to cobra rolls and if the high spiral generates any Talonesque Gs it may even be one of the better elements. Here's a vote for 'wait and see.' At best it could be very good, but there's no mistaking it for Montu.

No, it's hard to mistake it for Montu because there's no midcourse to come to a dead stop on. ;)

I have gotten more than a few rides on Montu when that midcourse was on LIGHTLY if at all, and that is the ONLY time I give Montu the accolades it gets from so many people....

Personally, I'd take Fire, Great Bear, or Talon...:)

It doesn't matter what the track color is, as long as the trains are silver, it will match the theme. Get it? (The train is the bullet and it's silver, hehehe!)

Dang, I'm having the durndest time getting the big picture of the layout. If anybody has it, could y'all send it my way?

Cool! I guess if they do keep the boat and train, they won't be quite as peaceful. But that's fine with me. ;)
