WestCoaster/Bear-yTales is proud to have an interview with Jack Falfas, Vice President of West Coast Operations for Cedar Fair. It offers a look into the man, his job and Knott's Berry Farm.
We also have the press releases from Knott's Berry Farm for their upcoming S&S slingshot ride, VertiGo. The 265-foot tall ride is set to debut later this year.
We've also got a construction round-up from Knott's Berry Farm, continuing our on-site coverage of the deconstruction of Windjammer and the construction of their new ride when it happens!
Magic Mountain is also covered with photos from last Monday.

What a score! Great interview. I'm glad to see WestCoaster upholding the tradition of Bear-yTales.com.
Jack sure has a way of saying what the new ride is without actually saying it!

Great, these SlingShots are going to be every where.
Sarcastic, huh? My first thought on reading about DejaGo, sorry, VertiGo was "What? But SFMM has one." Thought a bit & came to this conclusion; it doesn't matter as they're low capacity rides & will bring in revenue to all concerned.
So we all pretty much know now that it will be a coaster. I am surprised Jack said as much as he did in that interview. Sounds like a cool guy to work for....
Funny thing is I just thought of this this morning. How nice it'd be if Knott's could get one. At least SFMM doesn't "own" the rights to that one!
I think these slingshots are smart moves for the a lot of parks. For one they generate revenue. They keep guest busy and it offers indirect entertainment for the guest not riding it. I have seen countless times where the gp will stop just to see someone ride a skycoaster.

chill factor
If this VertiGo goes in place for the Windjammer that would be sad because I thought KBF was going to put a coaster in the open land (Impulse). Or I thought that KBF would get a long rumored hypercoaster.

I think teh slingshot will go where the Haunted Shack was. Now the coaster:
Hmmm...sand-filled? Sounds like B&M.
Rubber mounts? Sounds like Intamin.
Hmmmmm

Knott's is getting a coaster in the Windjammer spot. The VertiGo is going into the old Haunted Shack spot. If you ask me, due to theming situations, it would fit much better the other way around.
VertiGo will be going were the Haunted Shack once stood. Nothing *official* has been announced concerning WindJammer's replacement.

Yea finally but i wished it was a hyper coaster like errebody was predictin'.
Sand filled? B&M is the only company that makes rides with a hollow spine...
Actually, from what I've heard, California Screamin', and Intamin product, is sand filled.
How tall is SFMM's VertiGo?
"How tall is SFMM's VertiGo?"
Same as the others, 265' tall.

SFMM-fa-Life:
Not *everyone* is predicting a hyper., including me. Not for next year, at least.
It won't be a hyper. Falfas has said that all along. I wouldn't be surprised to see either a tilt type coaster, though. I am sure Intamin can do pretty much anything, having seen California Screamin', Millenium Force, and the impulses.
Now if only Jim Disney would give us a few more hints, or at least when Knott's will announce the ride. Jim, you're teasing us terribly....
LOL
I think they should have kept the name Absolutely Insane. I thought that was fantastic. Also, I'm glad to see KBF get something good. I wonder how similar the KBF coaster will be to the Intamin looper @ CP......

No more hints... sorry. As for announcing the ride, heck, Knott's doesn't even know when they're announcing it. :)
