Moosh,

is Solace always around the first weekend in March? We're thinking about heading back that direction in early '05 around my son's birthday (Feb. 20).

Cool beans! Yay Knotts for not tossing us enthusiasses out in the cold. Now we have to behave to make sure they know how much we appreciate it!

Noticed the event is scheduled for a Saturday and a Sunday this year. Wonder if that's a typo or a change in how the park usually handles the event.

EV - Of Solace 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 all have been the first weekend of march *except* 2001, which was in January.

What is different this year is that the event is a Sat/Sun instead of Fri/Sat, as it has been in the past.

Bummer, the weekend after my preferred status on USAirways will end (not enough trips this year to re-qualify).

Sigh... ;)

I hope they don't do crappy ass ERT like Ghostrider one night and Xcelerator the next. I'm going there friday also, and will probably skip sunday. Because I live a nice 6 hours away and have school.
But I am looking foward to some more off the hook Ghostrider in the Dark rides. They were crazy even though it was like 45 degrees out this year.

It may be more difficult for me to remain invisible in 2004. ;)

You know Southern California and those harsh winters... 45 degrees? Riiiight.

Cedar Point twice in one season? Not bad for a Californian. Trip #2- October 19

It was not that cold last year and I spent most of the night ert on Xcllerator with 82 m.p.h winds in my face. I wore jeans and a sweatshirt and felt fine. As fare as 04 goes I am already squirrling away some extra cash for it and hope the sessions are a little longer than just midnight and lets all hear it for knotts for even having solace this year after the letter cedar fair sent.

I hope they kill that iron yuppie. Thinks he's so big. The great homer simspon

Please come do ERT on Wildfire in December and we'll talk about cold weather and coaster riding. BTW, if you are interested in coming to SDC's 2nd annual Coaster Christmas I believe that it's December 14th this year (or whatever the Saturday near that is). A flyer should be uploaded to the ACE page soon.

Poor college student here I have to pinch my pennies pretty good just to make it to the solace and its only five hours from here.

My first Solace...I can't wait!

I sleep in a drawer.

Cool, I've been waiting for Knotts to set the date so that I can plan my first trip to So Cal next year.
Can't wait!

G's! They're what's for dinner!

Hmmm... flights are a bit pricey. On the other hand, last year Aer Lingus announed 99 euro fares to LA just after Christmas. I might see about that...

Thanks Moosh. I can finally start making some rough plans. We are planning on Solace, SFMM and Vegas, just need to figure out in what order. This trip is to celebrate our 10th anniversary, which happens to be 3/5. Anybody have any recommendations on where to stay in Vegas?
I like RIO (in Vegas); but it isn't right on the strip. The rooms are all suites and usually pretty cheap. Priceline is great if you don't mind the crap-shootness of it. -scott

Barbary Coast. It's not one of the huge overblown complexes, but it IS right in the middle of the Strip (great location), not too expensive, the rooms are very nice. Not very big on the comps, but that's not what I was looking for...
