Knott's Berry Farm moves forward dismantling Windjammer

Just a few years after it opened, the troubled TOGO racing coaster Windjammer at Knott's Berry Farm is being torn down. Construction crews (or should that be destruction crews) are working at a fever pace to take this ride down.
WestCoaster.net is pleased to be able to bring you on-site photos from the Windjammer site and will continue through the construction of Knott's newest ride, whatever it may be. I actualy liked the ride, even though it was slow. I thought it was fun. I never hit my head at all and felt fine when i got off, mabey its cause when i rode it i was only about 11. Its sad to see it go but i cant wait to see what goes in its place. Who knows what Cedar Fair will put in to challange Magic Mountain.
Isn't the coaster (Manhattan Express) @ New York, New York Hotel in Las Vegas a TOGO coaster? Although it looks nice from "the strip" it IS a genuine piece of crap!!! (if you haven't been on the ride - DON'T get on it!!! they charge too much to ride it and the ride is AWFUL - P.U.!!!!)
If the ride on "Windjammer" was anything like the ride on "Manhattan Express," Knotts' should have taken it down sooner.
I think the selling feature of this ride to Knotts' is the fact that Knotts' got a bargain for "Windjammer" - this just reinforces the old axiom: "you get what you pay for....."

Windjammer: The Little Train That Couldn't.
Sooooo glad to see this pile of sh*t leave. It has been stinking up that corner of the Farm for too long now. It never fit in and just didn't look right. The new ride should look much better there!
I personally feel that WJ perfectly fit into the Boardwalk theme. The colors, the surfboard trains, the lagoon, every aspect. But it was a real disappointment that the ride was a failure. It was a unique concept at the time to feature loops on a racing roller coaster. I just wish that it had been a smooth ride, then it would be considered one of the best family thrill rides.:(
Yes, Rick...Manhattan Express, WindJammer, SFGAdv's Viper, SFAW's Untratwister, and the PKI and PKD stand-ups are all TOGO products. Did I miss any other TOGOs in the US??
Skyrider at Canadas Wonderland. thats close enough to the states.
Personally, I like King Cobra, and the layout was interesting for Manhatten Express, though the thing rode bumpy and nasty
