Knott's Berry Farm -- ANYTHING NEW BESIDES PAINT??

2 ply paper in the loo's is always welcome these days.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure ANY flat ride can replace the Tumbler. It's just a unique experience that I love.

If the Tumbler goes, it's one less reason for me to visit Knott's :(

Not when a giant frisbee comes in. 240 degree spectrum of swinging. 127 feet tall. 4.5 Gs.

Well...at every Winter Solace event, where Jack Falfas has interaction w/ enthusiasts, the most requested flat has been a Frisbee. Perhaps he got the message?

Well the good thing is, these rides won't disappear forever. Another park will benefit from them. The ride we're getting is spectaular, with a cool little Mexican theme.

A frisbee themed to a Mexican Hat Dance, perhaps...;)

From reading the Cedar Fair cap-ex press release, it looks like several parks are splitting 3 million dollars with Knotts being one of them. Since the Giant Frisbees are close to 3 million by themselves, I would rule that out.

Now, regular frisbees are around 800k new and much cheaper used. I would definitely see them adding something like this with the SkySkater they already purchased, which is only around 200k.

Yup, even then. It's only a Frisbee. Certainly not the added bonus for Knott's like the Tumbler is for me.

Regular or super-sized, if it's a Frisbee I'm happy. While I'd mourn the loss of the Tumbla', I do prefer Frisbees so I would consider it a net gain. Plus a Frisbee would look so cool swinging beside Monty and Shaguar.

One thought: I wonder if KBF recv'd any money back from S & S in the Vertigo "deal", and, if so, if that money would be seperate from the capital expenditures budget. If so, that might allow them to buy the XXL sombrero instead of the XL. Here's hopin' so!

Well the only two parks left are MiA and KBF. It's already been confirmed that MiA isn't getting anything, so I would imagine that most of that money will be headed West Coast way.

Swoosh, don't forget the California Soak City parks as well.

They should find a way to get more land. There is a reasonably big area behind the park that is used as an employee parking lot. But right behind that is an elementary school. The only way they could use that land is if every ride had bubbles over the rider's heads (like Maliboomer @Calif.Adv.), or if that school would kindly move...

There are three main parking lots:

1] "Soak City" lot, on the other side of Beach Blvd; 2] "Marketplace" lot, sandwiched between Grand Ave and Beach Blvd by Ghostrider's far turn; and 3] the "Radisson" lot on Crescent Ave.

There is an employee and overflow lot across Western Ave, an overflow lot across La Palma.

Due to the neighboring community it's extremely doubtful Knotts will ever be able to expand the theme park beyond the current plot of land bordered by Beach Blvd, Grand Ave, Western Ave, La Palma Blvd, and Crescent Ave. Don't expect to see rides crossing or going under any those streets.

My opinion of the best option for expanding: build a parking garage on the site of the Soak City and/or Marketplace lot and reduce the size of the Radisson lot for hotel parking only [or build a garage there, too]. They could then move the wherehouses to the old Radisson lot, freeing up the land they currently occupy. That would give them the land to build a path starting at the deadend at Ghostrider and continuing behind Ghost Town, Mystery Lodge, and Bigfoot Rapids and connection to the existing loop to the employee entrance on Western Ave.

An alternative to moving the wherehouses in place of the Radisson lot would be to move them across La Palma, where the horse stables and a small wherehouse are. However if they lose the Radisson lot to park expansion they have to replace those parking spaces somehow.

Anyway, its all wishful thinking, I'm sure....

Ok, about the Raddison's lot: It doesn't take up all to much room. It goes about 3 aisles of parking lot towards the general guest parking lot, so unless they want to make the hotel adjoined to the park, it can stay. Look: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?dtype=a&mapdata=jZ2g%2b%2fXW8V%2f4%2f%2bFXt1A6QIwl67Wzwe0d%2byNnboX1w8C7xfeNruB0caBS0PCPnmi8loSXHf73Tp3bnWcE%2fQN6aoFktIZb7VbhImaguZOVnEVshRm3fothU86wgd%2b1%2bVX%2bVgkeWjaubydJGUMYkfo24l7RdIb3%2fMb8IZgT77tF%2fjjnqpnaX10fJLLA6TmFlxw0seCbtTKSFPsNAMMQ6Lc%2fncrXAu924GaLjcmiRRW4FIpPjgyrf9eVQzLYFDY5qDVbECJ0Zc4owoHCu4wOqpUrno%2fDiQUcUoMyT2HkAf125ZkN7NSsn1j3cxd%2f533VLCT9kJpXX%2b9eKihL0A%2bcZdn0Mn9JpWrsxSK4pBxBQpVp7Qg%2btCfIxwx4hw%3d%3d.

Knotts just built 2 new warehouses in the past few years, and one of them is literally large enough to build airplanes (as visable from ghostrider's lift hill). That area is their best spot to expand though.
