Nothing official, only rumors of a new adult flat. Last word on the next coaster was a Jan 2004 debut, but anything can change.

It's not a rollercoaster. It's a "Sky Skater" children's flat-ride.

Knotts has already confirmed no coaster for '03 in a scream article. '04 seems likely. Besides that, 1 more new thing in camp snoopy (its 2 seperate areas, and the sky skater will likely occupy the smaller animal show theater). Its the 20th anneversary of Camp Snoopy.

Rumors are going around about Tumbler and the Grandslammer leaving for a new flat ride. Tumbler just closed down.

Yes, but Tumbler also just went down for an extensive rehab. Why would Knotts do a month or two of rehab, just to send the ride away? I personally believe only Grand Slammer will be leaving. Just my $.02.

But Knotts is surely running out of space unless they tear things down or get rid of the marketplace which I doubt the Knott family will allow since that is what started Knott's. I think one attraction that is seeing its way out of the park is "Kingdom of the Dinosaurs", from rumors, "Grand Slammer", and one ride that was a waste of time and money was "Perilous Plunge", I liked Wipeout (in the old indoor location) and Greazed Lightning the way they were. They still would be popular today. Perilous Plunge is a great water ride but the loading is terrible since the new restraints and I would rather get on Bigfoot Rapids or the Timber Mountain Log Ride.

I think Knott's was great in the "Wacky Soap Box Racers", "Sky Jump" days... Not saying "Ghostrider" and "Xcelleratior" are not great rides. I just prefer those older days than what Knott's is today being owned by Cedar Fair (What wonderful people they are) hmmm.....

PS I just rode Tumbler 2 weeks ago right after the rehab... The ride still pulls a good size crowd in the "off season". I dont se it going anywhere

Somebody "in the know" on westcoaster said that it takes 5 people working 4 hours before the park opens to inspect and fix tumbler so it will work and not break down. same thing has been said about hammerhead and the tumbler (this came out of rehab 6 months ago). If these numbers are true, its quite a reality check. the swing's inspection, for comparison, is probably about 2 people for 40 minutes. Supposedly, CF also has a credit with S&S for the vertigo incidents.
Trust me. Knott's is getting more than the camp snoopy ride. What was written above about the Fiesta Village flats is correct. The new ride is very cool, and should be a worthy replacement for those two rides.

It's not a first of it's kind anymore. Another park is about to open a similar ride.

Superman:The Escape(1997-2002) May he one day fly again.

Hmmmmm, is that ride announced?

Are we getting a Derlium?

We shall see...hopefully soon

Actually, SFMM rider, I got very confused like you are getting now. Delirium, the pendulum ride, is actually called a Huss Giant Frisbee, but then its confusing cause Huss makes a Giant ride called the delirium, which is very different (its the one with the really cool water theming) than PKI's delirium.

The only other 1st of its kind ride opening this year that i can think of is another Giant ride, the Jump 2, opening at paramount's canada wonderland. Really scary ride, straight out of spy kids too. Huss' website has an animation. watch it to see what i mean. talk about air time.

Sky Jump was removed in 1999, which is still quite recent...so it wasn't in any "era." How about Corkscrew and Wacky Soap Box Racers days?

YEAH Corkscrew... tru dat

PS Why was Sky Jump removed?

And beary-tales, and the autopia like car ride, and the XK-1 or whatever it was called, and tijuana taxi cabs. all classics, but XK-1 was removed right when CF bought knotts to make way for Supreme Scream. It was a real big hazard for riders, cause they would often get stuck upside down.

Anyone know any 1st of its kind flat rides this year that are being built?

DWeaver has it right. However, a few posts later, I think you may have answered your own question. ;)
