Knott's accelerates Xcelerator construction, California Adventure announces two attractions

Posted | Contributed by James Disney

Work is moving forward with site preparation for Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. Large frames have been set up around a large tower footer as they prepare to finish pouring it. They are also continuing Ghostrider's bi-annual rehab with some track work and extending the shed covering over the drop.

California Adventure also formally announced the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Flik's Fun Fair at a small event before park opening. Both Disneyland Resort President Cynthia Harriss and Walt Disney Imagineering's Barry Braverman were on hand to make the announcement.

I don't think that they should have the shed go all the way down because it would make one big headchopper instead of two big ones.  During the haunt though, they should put a shed/tarp or something over the whole ride to make it pitch black with a couple of strobe lights in it and some smoke and that spider web stuff while going up the lift.

When will GhostRider reopen?
I'm planning on visiting Knott's on March 16th to ride GhostRider while I'm out in CA on Spring Break. Does anyone know when the ride is supposed to reopen?
Thanks,

It will be open by March 2nd (date of solace) for sure. I dont think that they would plan to to have solace durring a GR rehab.

Well, that is a relief. I was getting really worried that GR would be closed while I was out there, and that's my biggest reason for going.
Thanks!
