Knoebels/FT question

Ah yes........Mooshing. I haven't had a good Mooshing in a while!

Kennywood's Fright Nights are hysterical. :) As far as I am concerned it and Phunfest make for an awesome weekend! :)

Yes, Phantom Fright Nights are awsome! Unfortunately, our daughter is in band, so we have to be at a foorball game that night. :( We will then head for Pennsylvania late on Friday, and make PPP Saturday.

Always a great time!

So Skloosh-free or Moosh-free? That is the question.

Now, I've only been sklooshed but not mooshed, so I can tell you it isn't good to be sklooshed after sundown, and your shoes make noise after you get sklooshed-- in fact, they go skloosh-skloosh-skloosh. Gonch will have to tell you what noise you make after being mooshed. Sklooshing is definitely enjoyable when it's 90 degrees in July, and even if you don't get sklooshed yourself, it's fun to watch others get sklooshed. Now I'm sure Moosh will tell you the same about mooshing, but he's a wee bit biased.

One more thing-- why the hell are we talking about PPP already? The park hasn't even opened for the season yet. Did we FF to September already?

To early to talk about PPP? I already have my hotel room booked ;)

It is too early to talk about PPP 2010....that will become fair game the day after we get home from PPP this year. ;)

...which is when I reserve my hotel room!

I only hope you let William Shatner do the negotiating . . .

I have my room for PPP weekend too. And I got a great rate! :)

I'm just saying that some of us have a bunch of other visits to Knoebels to think about before PPP.

Yeah I got a few before PPP visits to plan... Preservation Con has been crossed off though...Looks like a couple day trips and then the PPP weekend trip for me.

Watch the tram car please....

Oh crap, I need to book my room! :)

It's NEVER too early to talk about Phunfest! :)

I'm with RGB here and will say that Knoebels during PPP is way different from regular Knoebels. Believe me, I'm not against PPP. My first time at Knoebels was PPP in 1992 and I haven't missed one since... for years it was my only yearly visit to Knoebels... it was where I first met the woman that eventually became my wife, and we ended up planning our wedding around PPP so it wouldn't interfere with what has become one of our favorite days of the year.

But Knoebels must be experienced during the regular season when all the rides, eateries and stores are open. Certain things are closed during PPP and while most people wouldn't consider those things major losses (well, the Log Flume is one of the best around and that's a loss), it's nice to get the full Knoebels experience. Phunfest is something incredible and it makes a nice companion to a regular park day, but is no substitute.

Opening day in 3 days and a sunny, 85 degree forecast...I'm getting goose bumps.

Grrr. I have to fly home to Iowa this weekend for my sister's graduation. I'll have to settle for opening weekend at my old home park, Adventureland this time. Hopefully I can round up some friends to go to Knoebels next weekend.

PPP is a must. I can't imagine ever missing it now. It's the one weekend I look forward to more than any other, but it's bitter sweet since it signals the end of another season.

Carrie, if you can manage it, I would reccommend visitng the park during the summer so you can take it all in and get to know the place. PPP always seems to fly by too fast, and although it's not insanely busy like Phantom Fright Nights, it can be tough to do everything you want to, especially if you're trying to hang out with friends.

My "group" tends to shuffle between the flyers, bumper cars and Phoenix with stops at the Carousel and Twister in between. There's never more of a buzz in the air than at PPP, so it makes it tough to decide where to spend your time. I want to spend all of it on the Phlyers, but I also wnat to spend all of it on the bumper cars and the Phoenix. :)

I've been visiting Knoebels since 1999 and I've yet see and do everything at the park.

Sorry, Moosh, but you're too tall to ride the Spanish Bambini. ;)

Mamoosh's avatar

That's OK...I get to ride a Spanish Bambino quite often :0

I guess it's a good thing I didn't type in the kiddie ride I originally thought of in my previous post. Yep, I was going to type "Ball Crawl."

Get Mooshed in the ball crawl?

Oh now that sounds like fun!

And this weekend at Knoebels, you can have twice the bambinis, twice the balls, and twice the crawls, as handstamps/wristbands are BOGO!
