know when Brett has planned a trip to Dorney/SFGADv/Hershey, but I'm going to meet him
Might I suggest replacing SFGadv with Knoebels? Hershey, Dorney and Knoebels may well be three of the best parks in America. While Great Adventure may well be one of the most mediocore... If you're going to try to endure a day at SFGadv for Kinda Ka...
I've ridden Dragster a few times on 2 Cedar Point trips in the past 2 years. They ran 5 trains despite an empty park which created 20 minute waits. The other time I was there it was the first season, with multiple breakdowns, but also with constant status updates and a park that wouldn't kick you off the line until you had experienced the ride regardless of the park's closing time. Plus you had Cedar Point's great scenery during your few seconds of prolonged airtime at the top.
As opposed to Kinda Ka... a coaster built for 4 trains, and who knows how many they will run on any given day? Breakdowns? Great Adventure never fixes rides the same day. Lines? Great Adventure is already known as having some of the worst, most excruciating lines in the country. Can you picture the nightmare when this thing opens? When you add those factors, and add that it's not much higher then Dragster anyway, plus with over the shoulder restraints... What I'm trying to say is, Kingda Ka and Nitro isn't worth what you're going to have to spend and endure at SFGadv.
Knoebels, on the other hand, is a fantastic park where I'd be willing to mail you your money back if you don't have one of your best park days of your life there. And unlike PPP, an average operating day at Knoebels has incredibly short lines.
I realize my advice wasn't solicited but, there it is.
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
Actually it looks like the frisbee xl from hus........
It isn't. I don't think they would add a $2 million flat ride next year and then supposedly add a coaster for '06.
Sheetz...Yummy food. The worst job I have ever had, EVER! I still love the food though. If you'unz ever get to Altoona, be sure to visit the new Ultra-Super-Gynormous MegaSheetz. Seriously; PiZZa, GelatiZ, Chicken stripZ, Carved Roast Beef, Fresh fruit, FrieZ (my personal favorite), huge selection of drinks, indoor/outdoor seating, led billboards. It's freekin' incredible, like something you'd find at Disney
Oh yea, this topic is about Whirlwind. I liked the silly thing. It was unique, but too short. Can't wait to see what will replace it.

King Diamond is playing in Poughkeepsie, NY April 23. \m/
Grandmaaaaaaa!
'Welcome Home' kills me. (in a good way)
With all due respect - Knoebels doesn't touch a King Diamond show. :)

Still so metal at heart that it hurts
King Diamond - Bassmaster
Maybe Knoebels will book King Diamond for PPP. That would be so great! GRANDMAAAAAAAAA! \m/
GWAR messed me up as a teen. I have seen them countless times. They just played here in State College about a month ago, and I STAYED AWAY on purpose. I didn't want them to bring me back to becomeing a GWAR slave like before. "America Must Be Destroyed" the movie is worse than porn, and hilarious. "Mommies, I've been stealing your babies, I gag the brat and then maybe, I'll suck out his brains"... Desgusting, yet funny. *** Edited 11/29/2004 6:13:42 AM UTC by dexter***
That may even beat me for halloween as The King!
I still think my Fire picture is the most evil looking ever!
To keep this on topic. I wonder when they are going to start removing the Whirlwind.
Glad you like, Dexter. :)
And on topic, Whirlwind didn't bother me. Not that it was a great ride, but it didn't hurt.
Is it blasphemous to talk metal but be listening to Snoop Dogg? If so, I'm going to hell...
EDIT - Dude, you rock. Next time my kids are causing trouble, I'm giving you a call. Excellent photos. :)

And you only didn't mind Whirlwind because you have the ultra elusive Togo Gene.
I think I may just add in Kneobles next year. I'll give ya a heads up, coasterpunk. I've already got a date for Holiday Worlds first visit, might as well hit up Twister and Pheonix whilst I'm at it.
Man, that explains a lot.
Maybe I have some super-rare Togo/Vekoma hybrid? Nah, the SLC's kill me.

We get anywhere from a few hundred to 1500 people a night. It opens the weekend after PPP and is open Fridays and Saturdays till Halloween. I'm trying to talk them into having it open the Friday before PPP. The toughest part is getting people to stick with it the entire 3 weekends. You get some people there for a week maybe 2 then don't see them until next year.
It's alot of fun, and it's for a good cause. So maybe I won't burn in Hell after all.
