LD was one of the most pleasant surprises at Camden, which had its share of them.

My most pleasant surprise there was that no one made me squeal like a piggy. :)

Don't they have warnings posted there about that, or was that a just a cautious guest who I saw at Camden wearing a "If you hear banjos Paddle FASTER" T-shirt?

Rob Ascough said:No, people liked it because they thought it was a great ride. Too bad you personally didn't get to experience what other people got to experience.

I rode it with a bunch of tools who were drooling and raving about how it was the best thing ever. I experienced th exact same ride that sent them into some bizarre near-orgasmic fit. Sorry, but no.-Nate

I think Nates going back into his If it ain't intamin, it don't rock mode :(JK Nate

That T-shirt is cool, but it has a different meaning for me... I would be paddling faster so I get there... ;)

You and 90% of other male enthusiasts...

Yeah Nate, we get it, you're far above the tools that loved the HSTC. Although you seem to have spent a lot of time studying the behavior of those so-called tools, making me wonder what that makes you?

Guess I'm a tool according to you.

I didn't call you or anyone else here a tool, unless you happened to be one of the guys on the coaster the day I rode it. I said that I rode it while everyone else was raving about it, and it didn't do a thing for me. Whenever anyone says they didn't like HSTC or that they thought it was just a kiddie coaster, the immediate retort is that he/she "just didn't get the right ride op" or he/she "didn't ride it at the right time." My point was that's BS.

So if you like the ride your opinion is your own, but if you don't like it then you did something wrong? Got it.

Where did I say you were wrong? It sounded like you were accusing people who love it basing that opinion on the ride being at Knoebels. And you called the people that were raving about it tools. Did I miss something?

All I did was offer a reason why someone could possibly enjoy the ride more than you did without its location being the reason. Your opinion is perfectly valid, as is mine and everyone else's, but you don't need to be a dick about it.

"Squeal like a piggy"...

I moved to WV a few years ago, and while no one has yet told me that I "have a purdy mouth", some of the people here a quite scary.

Matt,

I only quoted you to specifically point out that I hadn't called anyone here a tool. The rest of my post was directed at those who say their opinion of the ride is subjective, but at the same time apparently don't believe a negative opinion of it is in any way valid (for one reason or another).

I really couldn't care less if people thought HSTC was a great ride. You like it? Good for you. Personally, I think it greatly benefits from being at Knoebels, and wouldn't have nearly the following it does (did?) if it were located elsewhere. That's my opinion; take it or leave it.

When some in the thread said they weren't impressed with the ride or didn't "get it", people immediately said it must have been because they got the wrong operator (or because they didn't ride it at the right time, or whatever else). I replied because maybe others saw HSTC the same way I did - nothing more than a kiddie coaster - and that opinion is just as valid as those who thought it was the greatest thing ever.

I dunno Nate...sounds to me like you either had the wrong ride-op or rode it at the wrong time. ;)

^^ No, you made it clear the people that loved the HSTC were a bunch of amped-up tools. There's no denying the tone of your post and you're intelligent enough to know that. But don't worry Nate, I'm sure those enthusiasts in line with knew you weren't like them and were completely aware of how cool you are.

For the record, I never considered the HSTC to be a must-ride at Knoebels. I got some really great rides on the thing (as other have said, it depended on the operator and the crowd) but would much rather have spent my Knoebels time on the Phoenix, Twister, Lusse Skooters or Flyers. But I don't fault anyone for finding that coaster to be a total blast. It was a ride experience that was far removed from the typical kiddy coaster and it would have been the same whether it was located at Knoebels or Sea World.

^Sure would've beaten the daylights out of Shamu. For the record, Miler's kiddies are infintely more fun for adults than the Zierers...already too late for BGW/E/tOC though.

The one at Waldameer is a lot of fun. I can only begin to imagine a more extreme version of that thing.

Maybe your mouth just isn't that purdy? ;)

That's fine, Nate. I don't think any less of you for not liking it, nor should anyone else. We all get different experiences out of everything in life. Let's leave it at that.

Must be me, I couldn't wait for my kids to not need me on that one with them. That last turn into the station with the little hump was pure Evil. Not nasty, not dirty, EVIL.

Buncha tools.
