Kinzel hints at 2011 ride in Sandusky Register

It's not a star flyer.

Stop trying to be Moosh, OhioStater. ;)

Well, look at the Q & A from the latest interview.

Q: Does the new ride include the word "star" in any way?

A: No

Q: Will it (new ride) be one to majorly change the skyline of Cedar Point?

A: It depends on your point of view.

I would assume that a new "StarFlyer" ride would be taller than the space needle (if not much taller). Now if you are already convinced for some reason that it is a StarFlyer, than of course you will take every bit of information and twist them to fit that theory, but there is just as much "evidence" pointing to something else entirely.

The second answer is a complete non-answer.

The first, as I read it, seems to indicate the new ride's name won't include the word "star".

Well, it is the Obi-Wan Kenobi response, which can cause irritation. :)

I guess I interpret the first differently, almost as if someone was trying to eliminate the StarFlyer rumor (ride over just name). If it was a StarFlyer, then I think he would give another "non-answer"...like, well, that has yet to be determined, or something of that nature. A simple "no" is rather direct.

But, you are right...if it is the "name" that he was referring to, then the door is still open.

Sorry, Moosh, but I only have a man-crush on you. With Carrie, it's the full-on deal. ;)

Step off, Mike. She's taken.

And OhioStater, the name Stratosoar doesn't include "star" in any way...

I'm 99 % confident the word star has absolutely nothing to do with this ride, name or design.

No one here is disagreeing...

Do you really think being passionate about something inevitably means you become an obnoxious jackass about it?

I'm putting words in Gonch's mouth, but when he says "put them down", I don't think he means "...because they are jerks" but "...because they can't relate to what is/is not important to Regular People."

Again, isn't that an assumption or generalization that everyone who identifies as a "coaster enthusiast" can't relate to someone who isn't? Sure there are some who can't, but there are more than a few of us here who visit parks with people who don't go that often, and don't know which coasters do or don't have "The" as part of their official name.

Just because 6 people behave like idiots on MTV doesn't mean that every Italian-American acts the same, nor do most "regular" people assume they do.

Really, I think my point was made in my original post:

And the 'GP' doesn't care about the little things nearly as much as forums like this would have you believe.

I believe that coaster enthusiasts obsess over things that don't matter to anyone outside of coaster enthusiast circles.

I'm not sure where I implied that people are jackasses or can't relate or whatever else has been made of that comment.

And OhioStater, the name Stratosoar doesn't include "star" in any way...

Um, yeah, it does..the first letter, second letter, fourth letter, and last letter. They're even in the right order! ;)

The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

You might be correct (from a discussion at PointBuzz). :)

No way, that's not true. I've seen lines clear out for B&M inverts because people realized they were still using shoulder restraints.

And it looks like it would make a wonderful name for the new ride at Canada's Wonderland. :)

A good point, but countered here.

Yeah, I don't see the need to trademark a name in the US if you're not planning on using it here.
