Kings Dominion's 2010 Coaster

Anyone see the Screamscape report (with video) of the supports being loaded back onto a truck?

The video is mindnumbing, so if someone has the patience to watch it all and let us know exactly what goes down, that'd be cool.

Seems weird, I suppose.

^^I thought the video was just of the supports being loaded and hauled off??

Oh, is that all it is?

Well, that's a strange 2nd chapter to the KD 2010 coaster story.

Last edited by Lord Gonchar,

From the video it says that it may be headed off to Carowinds. That is a pretty big mess up, if indeed they took the pieces to the wrong place.

Uh, do you think the park would roll out its cranes and people for something they weren't expecting?

Yeah, they wanted to see how far they could get with the building before anyone realized the blunder. ;)

How about a more likely scenario: the parts were not unloaded at the wrong park. Rather, they were unloaded at the wrong place at the right park, and have thus been moved to their intended location at/near King's Dominion.

That makes entirely too much sense. I think they unloaded the parts to close the park because they didn't want the competition.

So the story here is, "The park moved the pieces."

And it took an 8 minute video to convey that?

Nah, they're gonna keep moving all of the parts to all of the parks in the chain and when the music stops, that park will get the coaster!

I like to spraypaint vague things on the ground before ACE'rs come to my park... perhaps Cedar Fair has taken my shenanigans to a new level.

Hi

Gonch, the video is mostly just of the land clearing and trying to track down where a tractor might have gone within the trees. The majority of it has nothing to do with the parts that were delivered after it's confirmed the parts are being reloaded onto the truck.

An "employee" said the parts might have belonged to Carowinds, but they don't know why KD would have unloaded them in the first place if they weren't for their park. The video was just speculative and then mostly of the land clearing.

I saw it just as I was getting ready to head out the door to get the kids. I started watching, but it seemed to be going nowhere fast. Skipped ahead once or twice and still saw nothing of interest. Had to go and still saw nothing of interest.

Not being lazy (for the most part) just didn't have the time or patience for it.

Thanks, Carrie.

Clearly Dominion is trying to steal Carowind's new B&M Standup

KD's new coaster, if using a launch system, will be the tiebreaker, kRaX.

It's not launched.

I remember when I went to Cedar Point in 2006. There was Maverick track and supports outside of our room at Hotel Breakers Express. Therefore, this leads me to believe that the track is being loaded and unloaded somewhere close to KD.

It's not like they are shipping a box of twinkies to KD (don't ask me why I said twinkies). Its a coaster for crying outloud. There is no possible way they sent the pieces to the wrong park.

Has anyone checked behind Grizzyly? I heard they were planning to move it behind the turn around after the first drop...

I'll take your word on the new coaster not being launched. I am actually quite happy about that.

Maybe they'll name it Diamondbackinator.

Either I'm telling the truth or I'm throwing out red herrings.

^^^That makes no sense since they could've done that in the first place instead of unloading in the parking lot.Don't forget they do have a maintenance area that's visible from the tower & that's where some of american & el dorado's parts were stored at when they first came into the park during the off-season.
