Yes. The schedule is like this (all times are EDT):
11:00 am - Formal announcement.
11:01 am - First official enthusiast complaint.
11:03 am - First complaint about first complaint.
11:04 am - First suggestion that we wait until the ride opens to complain.
11:05 am - First smart-azz remark from me making fun of everyone.
I'd like to ammend that schedule to start the complaining about the ride's length of 5,100 feet now. I guess I shouldn't be complaining, after all I haven't even seen the layout yet. I'll wait till it opens to complain.
Sounds like Millennium Force with more airtime hills... Should be interesting to see the layout.
If that stats are accurate, particularly regarding the track length, then I'm sure many of the airtime hills will be on the "smaller" side (think the last airtime hill on MF). A coaster going that fast, with a track of "only" 5100 feet in length, probably won't be using a bunch of big airtime hills ala MF or Diamondback.
Not necessarily. With one less overbank and a steeper lift they can have some decent sized humps around the 100 foot mark and with the right speed and angles, it could make for a ride better than MF. But I should not be praising this ride before I ride it or see the layout. ;)Last edited by RavenTTD, Thursday, August 20, 2009 11:06 AM
The news item has been posted, with links to the official site and our own page, over in the news forum.
Watching the videos I hope these sharp changes in direction aren't like Maverick. Those are kind of painful to me at much less speed than this will go. And why the OTSR's? No inversions and MF does not have them.
Looks like a fun ride.
Only thing I don't like , is the tie in with nascar.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Jeff, could we close this thread so we don't have to follow the discussion in 2 different places?
