Kingda Ka Questions

That's not too good.

ANd let me just say, as a real CPfanboy (not fanidiot), I have no problem with KK. I think it's great that another one of these amazing rides is out there for us/the public to enjoy!

Real Cbuzz quote of the day - "The classes i take in collage are so mor adcanced then u could imagen. Dont talk about my emglihs" - Adamforce
i called today before heading down and they said it was "taking a rest"-----mind you, i was there yesterday when they shut it down for technical problems around 6pm. i really think there are problems with the hydrolics(sp?).
ok....so my points of the ride are not what you all believe....but ttd did all of what kk did FIRST!!!! Six Flags just wanted to look good to so they added a ride. They wanted to be a little better and got it a whole 5 stories higher and 8 mph faster....i am sorry but i do not think that there are many people that can feel the difference between 8 mph and 5 stories once you are going that fast or are that high! ONCE AGAIN CP DID IT FIRST AND SF DID NOTHING BUT COPY!!!! SO TTD will always be better due to the thought that it was 1st!!!!!!!

Also cant wait for 2006....new coaster:
Height: 450'
Speed: 130mph
and not like ttd or kk

Dude, you're missing the point. Nobody cares. This isn't a high school football pissing contest. Do you think John Q. Clevelander is going to stop going to Cedar Point and riding Dragster because some park he's never heard of in New Jersey has a bigger and faster version? Chances are he'll never hear of the other ride in the first place.

Six Flags bought a product from the marketplace that they thought would provide a solid return on investment, just like Cedar Point did. It's not some silly ego thing.

Get a life.

Ahh yes, it's all so logical. Makes complete sense now. They thought of it first, so it must be better. Your argument is absolutely foolproof, I really can't do a thing to argue against that one. Well played.

Sad how Tekno's post (which is clearly sarcasm) is practically identical to yours. Your unsubstantiated rumor-mongering, whiny attitude, clearly biased allegiances, and unabashed closed-mindedness are not exactly winning anyone over around here.

Yeah? Guess what chain had a B&M Inverted, B&M Stand-up, Intamin Linear Gale, Intamin Hyper, Intamin Bobsled, and Arrow Mine-train all before Cedar Point added theirs?

Yep...Six Flags. So using your logic Cedar Point is the one stealing ideas, not Six Flags.

Jeff is right. Get a life, indeed!

Okay, fine. You win. TTD is better.

But using that line of reasoning...Raptor, Mantis, PT, Iron Dragon, CC:MR, BS, and MF all reek. And let's not even bring up SV or Maxair, shall we?

And since you're the 18,456th whiny CP fanboy to complain about KK vs. TTD...you'll need a scientific calculator to measure your personal, unoriginal sucktitude.

Ta ta!

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

I'm not going to argue which ride is better all I know is I went to CP 3 times for ERT on TTD and got 0 rides. On Saturday I got 4 rides on KK during ERT at Coaster Celebration. At this point I have to say KK is the better ride. The best launch I have ever had and every ride I was in a different seat. I liked the front seat the best, the back seat had alot of vibration, the front was much smoother. I also liked the veiw you get at the top.
Sucktitude?! Great word! ;)

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".

Ok, lets get this thread back on track: I'll be there on Friday. (I'm traveling nearly 1000 miles. This thing better be open, or else!!) Questions:

1) What is with this "zipper pockets only" policy I keep hearing about? Does that mean that if my shorts don't have pockets and I'm keeping my keys and wallet in there I can't ride? Doesn't seem right.

2)Is there a general consensus that the front is better? (TTD riders could chime in here as well). If I'm gonna wait 3-4 hours I might as well get the best ride possible.

Q BOT QBOt QBOT!!!! or the VIP tour! both good ideas to avoid a 8 hr line

FRONT owns... lost of wind and A LOT smoother than the back! but I hear is like a extra 1 to 2 hr line. I wouldn't know though *** Edited 5/24/2005 2:28:17 AM UTC by Earnhardt2***

Zipper pockets only mean that if you do not have pockets with zippers in them everything that you put in those pockets can and most likley will be flying through the air as you are whisked to the top of the coaster. you can either leave your belongings with a friend or put it in a box they have at the side of the station or rent a locker and put it in there. you can ride but you cannot have your keyes and wallet in a spot where they can be thrown out. it is better to leave your keyes in a safe spot then to have them thrown out from the coaster and be told that they cannot look for the keys if they can find them after the park is closed and you having to call a taxi to take you home.

on TTD, fron was the best, so it will be the same for KK. you will feel the force of the launch best from the front.

When I rode on 5/19 the security guard made me put my fanny pack in a locker. When I rode on
5/21 they did not make me put it in a locker.
I saw may people with glasses but they all had straps. I dont recall there being any boxes in the station to store things. Play it safe invest in a pair of shorts or a jacket with a zipper.

Red
I used inside jacket pockets to store everything. It makes it more secure. During the Summer I will have shorts that the pockets zip on cause I did see things going sailing in the breeze as the coaster launched on 5/22. One thing that got a big reaction was a $20 bill that floated down into the line and someone caught as the train was cruising over the bunny hill. Also there was either a hat or someone's hairpiece that floated away as the train went up the tower.

HAVEN'T you been here long enough by now to be able to recognize (and ignore) the truly absurd fanboys? ;)

Did Knott's Xcelerator *borrow* from PKD's S&S coaster? Of course not, Knott's is a CF park! :)

Anyone know if this ride is open today (5/24) after being closed yesterday? Let's hope KK isn't next in the line of descendants among the likes of Deja Vu, X, and TTD.
their # is 732-928-1821------------just press 0 and it will put you on with an operator.

they are showing rain all week in the forcast and this ride doesnt run in the rain. so if your traveling from a far--------check before you go!!!!!!!!!

Due to the lovely May weather we will be having here in NJ this week, I doubt KK will run much over the next few days. If the issue from this weekend is corrected.

LOL i got beat by a second on my post. *** Edited 5/24/2005 4:12:33 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Man, KK is sure having trouble fairly quickly. It sure feels like TTD all over again. I was hoping all these "KK is having no trouble" things would remain true, but can't say I'm surprised :(
