Kingda Ka has reopened!

As reported from Great Adventure Source, Kingda Ka officially has reopened to guests around 11 am this morning!!!

EDIT: apparently this is a soft opening, with the park intermittently letting guests onto the ride. The rest of the time, they are doing empty launches. *** Edited 7/30/2005 7:20:06 PM UTC by Goliath Freak***

Yay! I guess Gator will get his first ride this week afterall. :-)

Someone close to the park told me it would reopen yesterday....glad to hear it's up and running!

Let's just hope for the best, although it's not announced on the Six Flags site yet, hence the "soft opening".

Huh. Two days before August. I am impressed. I do wonder, how many hoops Great Adventure had to jump through from the state to get it back up and running. Oh well, lets hope that there are no more *major* problems with it this year.

Time to start planning my August visit.

To the best of my knowledge KK is NOT open. I believe that they attempted a soft opening but there were too many problems. I would expect that it reopens softly on Monday and an official opening and announcement is still a week away.

Whether it's open today or will open soon, as one who didn't expect it to open this quickly, I'm glad for everybody I was wrong.

NOW.....let's see it it runs well and consistantly. Pre-accident reliability seemed to leave a LOT to be desired. Especially after "learning" from Dragsters problems. *** Edited 7/30/2005 8:49:24 PM UTC by Peabody***

Hmm... I'll wait to see what the site has to say. I'm still winding down from my TTD ride on Thurs.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Rearender next week.

Sorry but Im seriously doubting Intamin these days.

As far as I can tell it seems KK was NOT open today. Seems as though sombodies *sources* may have been wrong. But nobody knows for sure.

I'd say it's still safe to say it's opening up soon, but nobody knows when exactly.

has heart failure IF nj let them open it so fast! *** Edited 7/31/2005 1:21:32 AM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Watch the tram car please....
Oh no its opening, what do we do now with TTD. Sooner or later one of us had to say it. Anyhow thats great news, IF it truly is running.

I would think that NJ officials would have to clear it for reopening. They were so hard on the orginal opening, lets just hope for all who can make it there this year they get to experience the tallest and fastest coaster on earth.(Unfortunately i wont be one of them.)

Good Luck to all you ready to take the KING on!

Ouch Charles Nungester! ;) I wish all good luck in getting a ride on it. I don't think we'll get there this season but hopefully next year. I'm honestly looking forward to Nitro a bit more having never visited that park and loving the other two B&M Megacoasters in the U.S.

Was there today (sun.) It was testing with water dummies all day. Nobody seemed to know if it had opened or when/if it was going to open in the near future. The signs for its closure were all still up around the parking lot and ticket area.

its not open,i was there (30th)...they were only testing it

i will be going to SF:Great Adventure on the 21 or 22 and the 30th
Oh well. I'm sure that it will open in a matter of days. :)

is open now! i heard on a radio commercial for six flags. I guess it opened today or yesterday. Let hope it stays. Same thing happened with top thrill at cedar point.
Kingda Ka is, infact, not open. Sources did not check other sources which lead to the false claims of a soft reopening. Kingda Ka has accepted no riders since the breakdown. All that is known is that the state is coming "soon" to inspect the ride. No time or date is known.

EDIT: Apparently the commercials are once again playing for Kingda Ka. Let's all hope for the best! *** Edited 8/3/2005 2:04:18 AM UTC by Goliath Freak***
