Kingda Ka complete circuit video

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted on here yet: http://xtremecoasters.com/index.php?act=videos

The brake at the peak really holds the train! It drags even though most of it is at a 90 degree angle. Hmm, I wonder if it is going to crawl to the station after the brakes, like in the video, or if it's gonna utilize fly-wheels to get you back.

Oops, sorry guys. Someone posted the vid in the "Brakes at the top..." discussion.
If nothing else, the video shows that you will be going over the top of and most of the way down that airtime hill with quite enough speed to provide some serious air. You really think that brake slowed doen the train that much? I really didn't notice much of a difference, but you are right, it does crawl into the station.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

My word, how long is it? The file is 30MB!

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.

There is a lot of junk. There are two launches, one clears the tophat.

I would have rather seen the entire bunny hill cleared before hitting any brakes. Oh well.

Don't forget: empty train.
Dear video guys: Choose a zoom level and stay with it. Edit out crap. If you're going to talk and sound like a coaster tool while shooting, cut out the sound.
the rear of the train looks stupid. They need to put a tail or something on it.

Also don't forget - movable brakes not moving.

Nice video. Though I'm still a little unsure of the otsr's, I havn't rode Stormrunner to really feel for myself how comfortable they are. But was there a valid reason given anywhere to why intamin choose the otsr for this. Could be be after the accident's they've had in the past? and from now on would it be a rare thing to see the famous T bar much anymore on new intamins?.

One thing I do like about that video is that it gives you the perspective of just how big this thing is. Like with Dragster, you don't really get that from the pictures. It's not until your standing next to it that it sinks in.

It certainly does look large in the video.

I actually think the trains look pretty cool. I also dont think I will mind the restraints, on Kanonen they look to be fine. Its not like they are huge B&M restraints.

I keep hearing everyone complain about how it stops early on the airtime hill or that the brakes are hard. I don't think so at all; they don't seem to kick in until the airtime would be well over, and the seem on par with Xcelerator or Storm Runner's downhill brakes.

Which I dont like. I would like to continue the speed off the hill rather than hitting it and slowing down on the other side.
why does everyone care where the brakes kick in? im sure after the rush of the launch and drop the bunny hill will be awesome aswell. i doubt you would realize it if the brakes kicked in earlier than youd like.
Apparently someone had two Screwdrivers before filming...

i think the reason they had to go with the over the shoulders is cause its just new jersey. There is no way new jersey state inspectors would ever let that thing go with out OTSR. New jersey has gotten soooooo strict over the past few years!

big things for 2008-2010!
^ Doesn't explain why Rita got OTSR.
I'm thinking that maybe it was the accidents on Superman, PP, and Hydro that may have prompted Intamin and/or the parks themeselves to rethink the current Intamin restraints or at least the older models of them (TTD has the newer model) and instead go for the (safer?) OTSR system. *** Edited 4/19/2005 11:39:29 PM UTC by Gamfan***

^^post above^^
I think this ride will be the biggest case of anticipointment EVER!.

I think the OTSR will make it soooo bad. also I think the brakes on the hill will make it horrible. Half of the fun of the ride is taken away. The bunny hop in the front will be alright but in the back, it will blow.

If it wasn't for the quick launch I wouldn't even care to ride this.
