Kingda Ka article.

But where would it go? SFoT is the only park I can think of.

Always a good thing when your self-worth is based on how many records your local coaster owns...

Wow!

First of all - 1EyedJack - way to be on the cutting edge and bring up an article that was written on media day! (2 1/2 weeks ago ;) ) I don't know where we'd get our current news around here if it wasn't for you.

And you have some issues dude! Your ignorant comments made me laugh. I'm not sure if you were kidnapped and raped by gangs last time you were in NJ/NY or if it's something as simple as one of the local sports teams beating your favorite team, but you need to work that out.

Good luck!

Every damn thread anymore turns into a Six Flags bashing or a "I hate Kingda Ka - waaa Dragster is better" tirade. Give it a rest!
I think this thread has EVERYTHING!

NY-bashing, SF-bashing, the famous 2007 CP record-breaker rumor, KK-bashing, TTD-is-better chanting, and last but not least, bashing other people's ideas about what a ride or ride experience is like.

Hoorah.

Mark my words: S:TE is going bye bye. That's where "it" will go.

I'll link to this thread next year when I prove myself right. ;)

Close, it doesn't have the mind-numbing trolling and attention whoring of youngstud98. If you haven't experienced his master trolling, visit the Busch Williamsburg thread! (I still think it's Jeff or another mod just having fun...why else would his account still be around? ;) )

Real Cbuzz quote of the day - "The classes i take in collage are so mor adcanced then u could imagen. Dont talk about my emglihs" - Adamforce
Here's my issue with S:TE... RCDB says it has a drop of 328'. That is taking into account that it climbs the entire tower, right? I mean, the starting point of the ride is at the top of Summit Peak, or whatever the hill is called at SFMM. It goes straight out, while the terrain falls underneath. So when the car reaches the tower, the flat track is pretty high off the ground, right? I dunno... I guess that the entire structure is 415', but that is very misleading.

And to the idea of S:TE "going bye-bye," I hope you're right. How sweet would a rocket be that started where S:TE does, goes out in the same manner, up a true 400+ feet, then drops all the way to the ground in front of the Goliath entrance with a 1 3/4 spiral (opposed to the 3/4 spiral on TTD and KK), with a true monster hill going up and above the original track level, then down into the station... This could be the first 500' drop coaster, and the first Intamin Rocket to truly use the terrain to its advantage. **DROOL**

But then again, what do I know?

WOOT that is me on the left in the front row! COol...

if this ever happens, I'm glad I got the chance to ride S:TE at some point in my life and be able to have a legitimate opinion on it.
Kingda Ka bashing and Six Flags bashing is childish
what if the coaster at sfmm will be the same hieght.

It doesnt matter if they break the record.

Then six flags can market having 2 of the worlds tallest coasters.

Why must people comparee and bash ttd and kk.

They are the same and if you think about it dont really compete with each other.

I live on long island and it is very hard and impractacal for me to go to cedair point. Why go there when i can spend the money to go to universal studios and disney worlkd.

For me it is more practical to drive the one hour and thirty minutes to go to sfgadv then the day long drive to ohio

Technically, right now, SFI does have 2 of the worlds tallest coasters. They have 2 of three currently standing 400 footers.

Will S:TE go? Maybe, Maybe not. But don't bet on Ka being the tallest for too long. And somehow, I wouldn't be my life savings that CP is all that interested in grabbing the title back so soon. But what do I know?

^ Damn right. After all, how long was it after Magnum lost it's record before Millennium opened? It's not like CP cares *that much".
We've already discussed this weeks ago in Rob A.'s thread :).

Hmm, I just got back from Great Adventure. Kingda is EVERYTHING I had hoped for, and then some. ;-) TR is coming soon. I could care less about the drama.

Don't take your launchers (KK and Dragster) for granted, guys!

Says roller coaster historian Steve Urbanowicz, "It's really in its own category."
Urbanowicz says he's been on 875 coasters around the world. But none like this"

He must never leave the NY/NJ area. Just because it is a tad bigger and a tad faster than dragster doesnt put it in "its own category".

Just more proof that New Yorkers and New Jersians dont beleive a world exists outside of there states.

Do me a HUGE FAVOR. Go read the article again. the words "but none like this" were not from me, they were the writer's own editorial remarks just prior to my quote..

Why in hell would I say I have not been on anything "like this" when I HAVE BEEN.

Bet your butt I've been outside of the NY/NJ area. In closing, next time you go accusing me of lying or saying something I didn't say, get your facts straight, and then just pi** off. :)

Have a nice day!

*smacks head*

I'm really disappointed to hear you say that, Steve.

I was just about to hit the NY/NJ area for the Coastaplaya 875 since the coasters were all right there.

Today really sucks now!

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Steve, like I said earlier, I'm just glad it isn't your "New Number 1 coaster, I was in tears when it was over! I will do it again!"

;)

It isn't, so I didn't say it was. :)
