Kewl New S & S Rides

I thought when I heard about the vekoma tilt coaster they could do the squirell thing.
Wow... as if one nonsense post wasn't enough.. we got two!
Those rides look sweet. The squirrl coaster is an amazing concept. If only my home park would finally get something new and from S&S.

84 coasters and counting

Those rides look awesome!!! I wish I could go there!

Cedar Fair does have a type of "coupon" they could be using soon.

That Screaming Squirrel would be perfect as a new steelie at Holiday World. They could actually put it in the Christmas area. Imagine coming through a holiday tunnel with a curtain of snow at the end of the tunnel, pass through it and then boom over the edge. But I mean for a family park that needs an innovative thrill of smaller size, this is perfect, and with a little theme could be the ultimate. This seems like a more mature and innovative version of the Intanin Spacediver Coaster(Flashback). But at least the harnesses are good and hopefully it wont be rough. My question is, does Screaming Squirrel look like a capacity disaster? Well at least it wouldn't be forCompounce or Holiday World ;)
Dueling Squirrel's: Rocky Squirrel or Secret Squirrel Choose your side.
Those would be cool facing each other, you know, racing towards each other at the top and then head on collision!!!!
The squirrel ride looks like it takes up so little space. The que would probably take up more space than the actual ride. This ride could go in just about any spot and if it became popular and reliable this could pop up in a lot of places
Hopefully S&S gets back on their feet from the tradegy with their VertiGo towers and the problems with H:XLC. These rides definitely look insane, and we all know the mentality of Stan Checketts. These rides look very promising, and I would love to see what their wooden coaster designs look like.

Just a technical question about the Squirrel...As the ride transversed the course, during each maneuver to upside down, it would gain momentum. Would they have to have a slowing mechanism to ensure the g's going over those "cliffs" were not too intense?

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

What do you bet the Squirrel never sees the light of day at an amusement park?

If parks won't buy a product as amazing as the Arrowbatic, they won't buy this.

For HW, this type of ride could make an amazing dark ride/coaster combo. Each right-side-up level could be themed to going further underground, maybe. The first upside-down level could have roots coming from above and such. I dunno.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

In the Screaming Squirrel pix of the prototype there are some round mechanical machinery on or near the track. Wonder if these are what keep the speed of the vechicle in check so that G's do not get too high transitioning from right side up to upside down.

They do look like they could be some sort of dynamic brakes. In other words a generator the slows the coaster by using the coasters energy to produce electricity.

I want to get one a Flying Squirrel. Its looks simply amazing. I want to show my dad that one, because he hated Ricochet because it made him feel like he was going to fall out, wait till he sees that! I can see it now...

o.O O.O O.o

Anywho, I've never done one of those Slingshots, so I'd love to try the Sky Sling. Looking down at the ground, then launching up sounds wonderful!

Also, can't forget the Fly Swatter, I still don't understand how it works, but either way, it'll be great!

I hope they put the flying squirrel in the first RCT 2 expansion pack :)

Operation Wicked Twister - Goal: Lose 50 lbs by next season to ride it! (updates soon)

This will probably be a maintence disaster, but the S&S woodies might be launched, most of S&S's rides use compressed air.

The right-side up side of the squirl coaster could be themed after America, and the up-side down side could be themed after Austrailia. Quoting Homer Simpson... "I'm in Austrailia, America, Austrailia, America, Austrailia, America, Austrailia, America."

Haha great one OsFn8. One of the best Simpsons episodes IMO. But I doubt that S&S will make any launched woods. Denise Dinn just went over there and I can foresee some great woodies, but not launched ones.

PkI FaNaTiC - what does Denise Dinn have to do with great coasters coming out of S&S? She didn't design anything while at CCI, she just ran the company [into the ground]. You can place you money on S&S woodies, I'll place mine with Gravity Group.

Moosh - who prefers the "Chili Cookoff" episode where Homer eats the chili, halucinates, and can make the sun rise, sunset, sunrise, sunset!

I just did some quick calcs and the squirrel would require some sort of breaking during the flip over to avoid excessive G's. The breaks must be the devices that JWolg mentioned. They are clearly visible in the photos.
