Kennywood or Dorney Park

Personally, I would skip all three and do Knoebels. Why is it out of consideration for you?

Of the three you do have listed, I'd go with Kennywood on account of your father. All three are fine parks, but if your father sits out loopers, then Kennywood would be most friendly to him with no loopers. The coasters it does have are very good, and as mentioned, it has a great collection of flats.

I Say go to kennywood this year and save Dorney for next year. Most likely KW won't get a new attraction next year and Dorney is getting Hydra. So go to keenywood. You'll have a good time and you'll be out in at least 3 hrs!....Also Hershey isnt to far. Im gooing next week. Hope this helps.

I was just at Dorney and wasn't too impressed with it. I loved Kwood when I was there. I would do it again in a heartbeat. They have some awesome flats and the wood coasters there are really something special and unique. Kennywood is a nice alternative to a standard Cedar Fair park. Oh yes, Phantom's Revenge is really awesome too!
go to Kennywood....unique collection of not only coasters, but the flat rides there are out of this world. be sure to ride Pit Fall, the gyro drop, on the side facing the cliff down to the river....its insane :)

oh...and ride Jack Rabbit in row 3-1....youll thank me later;)

still trying to think of a good signature...

How can you do Kennywood in 3 hrs!?

The legend continues
Steel Force is a classic. Yet, all the coasters and rides at Kennywood are classics. The park itself is historic. It is the only park of its size that lets people buy tickets as you go, class act all the way! Kennywood is simply one of the best parks on the planet.

Easy. There are only for coaster's. Do phantom 1st, then go to thunderbolt because it usually only runs one train. Then you hit Noah's arc and then you wrap around and hit Exterminator and The Whip. Then you go back near the entrance and do Just about all the flats. And then your at Jack Rabbit, do that and then continue on to racer. Stop for lunch at the potato patch(great fries) and then ride more flats and re-rides. In 3-4hrs. Trust me, I do it all the time.

Better question... Why would you want to do Kennywood in only 3 hours?

You say that you "do it all the time"... and that is the key I suppose. From someone who only gets to Kennywood rarely, it deserves an entire day or better part of the day at least.

As shocking as it may seem, I have to agree with Kennywood myself. All for the reasons everyone has stated here. Dorney Park you can truly get done in less than 3 hours, I mean honestly, think about all the rides there and there really aren't THAT many! Talon rocks, and do not underestimate Lazer, those are my favs at that park. Besides the CP/CF feel of DP, Kennywood offers WAY more. I love all their coasters, especially Phantoms Revenge (but loved it as SP too!) the food (Potato Patch! :)) is wonderful and very inexpensive, and the entire landscaping of Kennywood is breathtaking. You could easily blow a roll of film on just that alone.
So, depending on what you're looking for, my $$ is with Kennywood, but thats jmho! :)

As for me, CU AT CP! :)

It depends on what you want. If you're wanting some great wooden coasters, lots of other unique rides and a well-kept park, Kennywood is your choice.

If you want some more coaster credits and a solid steel lineup along with a pretty good woodie, Dorney is your choice.

Definitely Kennywood. We were there from 11-5 and didn't want to leave and we were at Dorney for 2 hrs. and couldn't wait to leave. Luckily Talon held us over for another hour or we would have felt silly buying food at the park and not getting it outside. Kennywood has the better wood (x3) and much, much, much better hyper IMO. The flats are great fun as well at KW and they have more dark rides than Dorney's number of sitdown restaurants (which 5/6 Dorney employees don't know exist). I vote Kennywood.
