Kennywood for sure. There's no comparison.
TOS= Terms of service....you should REALLY read it carefully.

Dorney for sure. There's no comparison.;)
Visited both in june, had a much better time at Dorney. Dont rule out Hersheypark Storm Runner worth the trip.

coasterfreakone 100 voyage laps and still cant get enough
From the looks of it, you probably couldnt go wrong at either. Ive been to Kennywood several times and absolutley love it, but Dorney looks like a really cool park as well. If your into the whole classic park feel, Kennywood is a no-brainer. But Dorney probably gives you a little more bang for your buck...but yea, dont forget about Hershey, was there also this year, another exceptional park.

I say go to Knoebels, the best park IMO in PA. But I would actually go to whatever park is closer to you, or what else you are doing in PA.
Hershey & Knoebels... no brainer.

I love it when someone asks for park advice, and everyone tells him/her to go to Knoebels!

dont rule out hershey! I went there this year and it was a great park. Storm Runner blew me away! They've also got alot of other great coasters too!

ive been to hershey and ive been on every coaster but comet and storm runner, do you think its worth it to miss out on kennywood and dorney park (im not going to knoebles) just for those 2 coasters (mainly storm runner)
Whats wrong with Knoebels? But sill dorney and Kennywood are both nice parks. Yet if I had to choose for next year, I would go to Dorney...mainly for Hydra. If it wasn't for Hydra, I would go to whatever park is closer.
well im going on a road trip so closeness doesnt matter, and my dad (who im going with) cant go on coasters with loops so im kinda leaning away from dorney
I very much dislike Knoebels. Gravel and old, unpainted buildings. It has Two nice wood coaster and a great haunted house. No Rapids, no great steel looper, unbareably uninspired layout.

HersheyPark is incredible, especially within the past 5 or 10 years. It has grown to be my favorite park and dare I say one of the best parks in the U.S. The only ride you may find missing from HersheyPark is a drop ride.

But this isn't about those Two parks; it's about Kennywood and Dorney...

Every time I go to Kennywood, I have a blast. The park is a great example of perfectly mixing the old with the new. They have Three dark rides (one is a coaster) and a dark walkthrough, of which are becoming very rare for any park to have even just one. Even though it's a wood fans dream, expect the wood to be less intense and more "family fun". The park lacks loops, but that's about it. The fries are to die for.

Dorney is like a small version of CP. Talon is one of the best inverts ever devised. Even though Steel Force has some wicked speed, it is NOTHING like Magnum because it lacks the pops of air. If you don't count the awesome waterpark, it is about the same size as Kennywood. I've agreed with the people who say Dorney feels "sterile" and barron.

This is my opinion as my sig says. It may not reflect the opinions of others, and others may disagree, and I respect that.

I recommend Kennywood.

Oh no, not gravel! Gravel makes parks look cheap! [/sacasm]

Gravel, so what. I like it, it really gives the park that classic, traditional feel. Sure it doesn't have a rapids ride or a good steel coaster, but it does have Phoenix and Twister, Haunted Mansion, the Flyers and Skooters. The layout is a bit confusing, but what can you do when there is a road in the middle of the park? I also saw you said it was old. Parks do age, you know. I really do think age is irrelevant when you are talking about park quality (look at Cedar Point, you know how old it is).

I have a little home park bias, sure, but I don't think Knoebel's is anywhere near as bad as you say it is.

No poblemo, Josh. When I said "old", It was a word to describe the look of buildings that are unpainted. The lack of paint makes them look old, imho. That's all. I said Kennywood is old too, but not in context of paint on buildings, rather the feel of the park.

I know that I am one of about Three people who have said here at CB that they do not like Knoebels. I have only been there 2 or 3 times. Each time I was very unimpressed with the park as a whole. I liked a few of the rides though. A LOT of people disagree with me about this, and I am okay with that because we all have very different opinions about a lot of things here.

That's just me-My opinion. I totally respect that you like the park. I do not like it. My Sister likes onions but not cheese. I like cheese but not onions. No biggie.

Kennywood Park!:)

If you do go to Dorney Park, you won't be able to ride rides such as the Turtle, Auto Race, Bayern Kurve, and Kangaroo. Doesn't Dorney have a Whip? *** Edited 8/14/2004 1:05:33 PM UTC by KpExpress***

The legend continues
fine new rule, no talking about knoebles and out of 3:

Hersheypark Kennywood Park or Dorney Park pick one of the 3 *** Edited 8/14/2004 2:24:43 PM UTC by drummerkid88***

I wouldnt go to hershey since you rode every coaster there except 2, so you have been there. Also, depends on how long your going, and do you like waterparks? Do you prefere classic rides and wood like turtle or jackrabbit or new hight tech rides and loops like meteor and talon?
hate waterparks 1 1/2 days and i just ride coasters i dont care what kind
The only unpainted buildings I remember from Knoebels are the log cabins.

Maybe I'm weird but I prefer my log cabins unpainted :)
