Kennywood in 2003

Last year was the first time in a few years that I didn't get to go to Kennywood. I miss that park so much, but I plan on going this year. I'm excited about the new ride, even if it's used. Hell, it's still going to be fun, and it's going to be at Kennywood. You can't get much better than that.

Wow, KW is turning into a theme park. First the Pirate Area, now Volcano Valley.
Let's just hope they leave the "traditional" area alone.

Why, oh why, is no one excited about the new manhole by the Go Fish stand? Seriously, you'd think a major renovation like that would get some press.

kpjb - do you know how hard it is not to make a joke about the "new manhole" ? In my best Captain Kirk voice: "Must....re....sist...the-urge!"

Regarding the next new coaster: Kennywood can still get plenty of PR and Marketing mileage out of Phantom's Revenge and the new Top Spin and themed area will be something to talk about as well, so I don't see another new coaster for a few years.

I also don't see Kennywood turning into a full-fledged theme park. Rather I see them like a mini-CP: a few themed areas mixed with classic non-themed areas. I think the top Spin will be a great addition ;)

Welcome to the New & Improved Coasterbuzz...now with 25% more tomfoolery and new pretty colors!

With the removal of the Roll-o-Planes, what do you think could go there? An old Eli Wheel or the return of a Phantom Phlyers type ride.

My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.

Maybe they could relocate the Kangaroos there. It is the last one left.

What I'd do to get the Phantom Phlyers back. :) I'm gonna miss the Roll-o-Plane though, even though it's been quite some time since I last rode it.

Not much can fit where the ROP is. A ferris wheel would probably be too big... especially when you factor in the queuing.

While the 'roo may fit there, you'd run in to the same problem for its current location... what would you put in its place?

Originally it was thought to be a good place for the Ham on Rye, but I think that'll end up where the golf course was.

Don't be surprised if you see a high-tech, state-of-the-art pine tree where the ROP was for '03.

I'd like to see an on ride photo booth in that spot for PR since its right on the exit, that would easily fit. I also like the new name of the Enterprise Volcano and can't wait to see the new stuff at KW this year.
