Nope. It will be nice to be back again but a used Top Spin will not bring in crowds.

My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.
Well, most park goers won't know it's used, so the question is will a new flat ride bring in patrons? Not really, but it WILL be a decent addition. Of course, last year when people at the park were asking what Kennywood was getting, and I told them, they said "Wait, that sounds like that ride at Six Flags..."
So, it's a simple addition, but nothing earth-shattering. Oh well.

Maybe we'll see a new coaster next year, or the year after that? Who knows.

Anyone who is anybody in the industry is happy that an independent park is thriving without public money needed to operate. The ride is a great addition, and 99.99% of Kennywood guests don't know where Compounce is, so the ride is new to them. Yes, they have an identical one at Geauga Lake, so Kennywood thought the situation through by the book.
1. They have an under performing ride at a sister park. Do we sell, trade it in, or relocate it?
2. It is a teen ride, so it would be too much for Idlewaild, and not fit in at Sandcastle? Onward to Kennywood.
3. Geauga Lake had the first topspin in the US, and they did it right, with themeing to build excitement with the teens. Kennywood opts to theme, which they have mastered quite fast.
4. They now can do it better, with a totally rebuilt Pirate Ship, nautiucal games, and a new fried fish stand, and hey, Surf's Up! They now have an area that is larger than the Texas Tornado has at GL, and it now has optional attractions.
It will go along nice. Just think, a park of their size has no looping coaster or adult ferris wheel. And they still command the respect of everyone in the business.

SO is anyone excited about Kennywood this season?
I am always excited about Kennywood. In addition to having a great selection of rides, it is a living history museum and the finest remaining trolley park in the US. If your don't like great coasters, classic flat rides, great food, free parking and inexpensive admission, then go somewhere else.

But we'll live with the Top Spin and hope for the best in 2004. We're just biding time 'til the big new coaster anyway, probably in 05 or 06.
Don't hold your breath. You'll pass out.

im pretty sure Kennywood wont be putting in a coaster for a long time....they really dont have the room, so theyd have to remove something....
and lets face it, all of their coasters are pretty popular, so i dont think that will be happening anytime soon. and all of the flat rides that take up a substantial amount of space, which is only a few, are popular as well....
time will tell:)
