Considering the park got Intimidator just two years ago, one of two E-ticket attractions in four years (they other being Dominator), I find it highly doubtful it will be a coaster, and especially doubtful it'll be a big one.
On the other hand, who would've thought Canada's Wonderland would get Leviathan so soon after Behemoth?
On the other, other hand, Kings Dominion doesn't have quite the market that CW does.
On the other, other, other hand, it's still a pretty big market.
On the other, other, other, other...hey, whaddaya know? I'm all out of hands.
Beats me.

I'm kind of excited - No - interested, to hear what they will offer next year. I predict another Wing rider in the chain for next year, but that's just a wild guess.

I'd say no to the wing rider, due to the "record breaking" clue and Gatekeeper being built at CP. CF wouldn't out do it's flagship park. My guess is it's not a coaster but I could be wrong.
Coaster Count: 101 Parks: 19
Steel: 86
Wood: 15
Hmmm...world's tallest water ride or slide? I'd think Cedar Fair would be scared off by any more Intamin water rides, but maybe tallest water coaster or something? I believe they're also missing an always-popular gyro pendulum ride, so maybe the world's largest version of that. Announcement is in 7.5 hours, so we'll find out soon.
For that matter, do we know what Kings Island has up their sleeve? With the Soak City upgrade this year it stands to reason that the dry side would receive something. Screamcape reports the rumor that the go carts will be removed, which opens up a little bit of space.
Oh, and before I get jumped on, yes I know SOB is coming down. I don't see it's huge mega awesome replacement coming before '14, though, with all the work that needs done first...
I don't think "record breaking" means anything anymore. Every new ride is record breaking in some way. It's simply a marketing term. Look at Gold Striker at CGM which was teased as "breaking records" then announced as the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Northern California.
I can't pay attention to more than one press announcement at a time, and since KD is kinda far away from me anyway, I'll probably focus on Apple. :)
Same here, Josh. Having said that:
Worlds Largest Peanuts Themed Area new at Kings Dominion for 2013.
To paraphrase Carly Simon....An-tis-appointment...
Hey, be glad you don't have to hear me try to sing it. I couldn't carry a tune if it was in a paper bag.
Nice avatar, Josh.
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

I don't recall if they ever actually called it "Record Breaking"... But Sky Rush at Hersheypark was and still is referred to as "The Tallest, Fastest Roller Coaster at Hersheypark." They really emphasize "Tallest" and "Fastest" and the "at Hersheypark" is almost said as an after thought. So... the park broke it's own record?

Oh Gawd, I'm so excited for the Apple announcement I can hardly contain myself.

:-) Not too many people around me get it, but I'm obsessed with that show lately. It's hilarious.
edit: I kind of want to find a grizzly coat and a red curly wig for Halloween, but that's expensive. Besides, I could probably pull off "the Derz" better.
I doubt Apple is going to announce anything to get me really aroused.
