KBF TRACK PICTURES!

It must be a county law (if it is a law, and not a myth). The majority of the state regs deal with labor. The insurance regs for amusement rides in California seem pretty minimal.

I suppose the law could be on the books, but newer, with Monty grandfathered in.

There is no such law.  It's a myth.  Disney and SFMM did it for insurance savings.  Disney is in Orange County and Magic Mountain is in Ventura County.  As for Ventura, who knows...

I can tell you NO inversions

Regardless of laws or track color, this is obviously not an Impulse design. There's pieces there that have a convex bend to them and pieces with a concave bend. The Impulse layout only bends one way.

As for the notched piece on site, I can only think of where I have seen this before. As Jeff was so kind as to remind me, this same type of track is seen on the third hill of MF.

A few things.
The track isn'pink. If anyone saw it in person that would be obvious.
Its barely even coral... A lot closer to orange.

flahback78: Don't start stupid rumors. Knotts WON'T take out Montezooma's Revenge anytime soon. Its been going around for a long time, but like most other rumors like it. Its just ridiculous.
Oh, and its spelled MontEzooma's Revenge.

Finally, there is no law in California or Orange County or LA county.
I know politicians have made laws over worse things, but I can tell you that this is completely false.
its another rumor that isn't true and never goes away.
Did I mention that Magnum is sinking??

Sfmmrider:  from what I've been previously told this will have an inversion of sorts - a "top hat" style like on Mr. Freeze.  However I acknowledge the possibility that Intamin has something more devious in mind...going OVER the "top hat" instead of under.  Either way I'm happy ;-)
If you went "OVER the 'top hat'", wouldn't that just be like the hill on Hypersonic?
ciao,
moi
I saw the track in person and it was very clearly pink (sorry to beat a dead horse)

2Hostyl:  yes...but I'd imagine the transition wouldn't be as sharp as on Hypersonic.  Let me reiterate, however, that even tho I do know a lot about this coaster  have not seen a layout and my comment about "going over the top" was PURE speculation.

Its the same color used on the Belmont Giant Dipper! Not very original...;)

Maybe this coaster is going to have a hyper or giga layout except for being launched instead of a chain(or cable) lift. Imaging being shot out of the station at 93 mph into a 200 ft overbanked turn, and a layout that is a combination of SROS & MF. Could it be something like that?

If a grandfathered law were in affect than Revolution wouldnt have OTSR's on it today. While I have never been on Revolution, it does seem like a shame that shoulder restraints were installed.

""An hour wait for a 2 minute thrill. Yes, we need our heads examined""

Has anyone ever considered that any OTSR issues are handled on a case by case basis? There is no law, only insurance companies which will not insure certain rides that don't meet certain requirements. It's as simple as that.

X......IS.....COMING!
Why would anyone (State, Local authority) waste their time making sure a handful of rides have OTSRs? California has alot of other issues they could be worrying about.

With the kind of crap Knotts got with Ghostrider's noise, you've got to wonder what the park will do to lessen the noise of this ride.

Jeff...here's one way to explain the law and the absense of OSTRs on Monty:  SFMM is in LA County but Knotts is in Orange County.  It could very well be a County Law, not a state law.

Then, since CA Screamin' is in Orange County, and goes upside-down once, why doesn't it have lapbars? Just my $.2.
Anyways, I love that color, and I really don't care what type of Intamin it is... its Intamin, for heaven-sakes! It will be great!
BTW...couldn't it be an EGF clone if it launched up to the top of the first hill? There's some food for thought...:)

A big ball of poo!

Maybe they actually wanted shoulder harnesses?  All Intamin loopers so far use shoulder harnesses, so if it is a looper I don't see why everyone is so quick to assume it will only have lap bars.
