Joker's Jinx Train Arrives

I went to Six Flags America this morning and as I was going up the lift hill on SROS I happened to glance to my left, and what did I see? A shiny yellow car sitting behind Joker's Jinx with the rest of the yellow train also there cocooned in plaastic. By the time I left they had a second car out of the wrappings. There were no definite signs of the other train, but there were some cargo containers hidden under a tent. Hopefully, they will have JJ up and running soon.
Good news, Jim. Thanks!

Please let it be ready by next saturday.I'm heading out there next saturday so I hope they can test it and have at least that one train running when I get there.

Anybody know if this ride has received a retrofit similar to those one some of the other Premier Spaghetti Bowl coasters?

I am sure with the Poltergeist getting lap bars Jokers Jinx would be getting the same treatment.
The only one not getting it is Mad Cobra, because it already has its own special system unike all the other Amaercan Spaghettios.

I don't think Speed The Ride is getting them either.
Yes it has lap bars.

But Vertigo, I am sure I heard on The Onion (the "real" news) the other day that Spaghettios were in trouble because of a deterioration in Franco-American relations....;)

Speed I don't think needs them, not that I've ridden it, but the layout seems much less conducive to the headbanging...the bowl clones (MC was the original, right?) all needed the retrofit though, and ride WAAAAY better now.

Actually, Rollergator, Mad Cobra was the third Spaghetti bowl, the FOF twins being the first 2. I wonder if Premier's buisness will pick up now after all the lap bar conversions. If I owned a park, I wouldn't have spent $5 on a spaghetti bowl with OTSRs. I visited SFA many times during JJs first year and even on the park's busiest days I never say more than a few minute wait for it. For a big ride it's first year, that's not too good! Now, the tide has turned on these rides, thank heavens!

Saw the train today to. It's up on some metal frames near the brake area for the ride on the big patch of asphalt. Makes a gorgeous sight from the S:RoS lift hill. :)

Here's hopping it doesn't take over a month to get it running. ;)

Ready to spring into a new coaster season! :)

Thanks, Peabody...after riding the newly-retro'd FoF at PKI, we were all raving about the improvement. With OTSR's you'd have to give me $5 to ride more than once...at least pay for my Advils.... After the laps, four consecutive re-rides wasn't enough (LOVE that ERT.... ).

And now SFA has another great ride to take folks away from S:RoS and the woodies...

I must admit that I was VERY excited to see the trains in that concrete area on Saturday. It must have been the first time I rode Superman and didn't pay attention to the first drop because I was yelling to my friend, "Look at those trains"!

Gravity is your friend!
One big difference between Paramount and Six Flags, is that Six Flags is actually hyping the lapbar conversion in both their brochure and at the ride itself, while calling it a new harness system. So yes, the lines could be long.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
All six of the cars that make up JJ's yellow train are now there, and yes they have lap bars. You can view some photo's of the new train at www.sixflagsnews.com. I can hardly wait to see this coaster back in action and I'm eager to ride. Now that the joker is getting new trains the wait times will surely increase so who knows maybe we'll get a new coaster in that area sometime within the next year or so I'm thinking that a clone of B:TDK would go real nice on the other side of the path from JJ to S:ROS.
Where are the trains in the picture I don't see them.
I believe that, after seeing the problems for the first couple of seasons, Motopia hired another Japanese company to redo the trains and parts of the ride system. I did not get to ride Mad Cobra, however, to see how much the ride has improved, but the trains did look better than the what was the ones seen on Poltergeist, and seem to give a better ride than FoF@PKD before retrifocation. They were not regular OSTR, but were not lap bars either. If I could figure out what company did the reworking on Mad Cobra then I could show you what the restraints looked like.

The traain for JJ is located to the right of the Rail Road track in front of a white tent.

Did someone forget to turn off thier night vision when they took the pic?

Thanks
One further note. The tent in the photos is being used to hide shipping containers. I don't know if the containers were used to ship the trains or not. Containerization would seem a little excessive shipping the trains from Millersville.
