Jeepers (Maryland Locations)

A few friends of mine visted the 3 Maryland locations of Jeepers with their Python Pit rollercoasters today.(well, we're in the process of visiting.. I'm on my laptop on the highway at the moment.. :) )

I went to add these coasters to my track record, and found that neither the coasters or the parks themselves are listed. Have these parks really not been submitted before, or is there a reason they're not listed? RCDB has the coasters identified as being installed in 1996, so I find it hard to believe it's taken this long for someone to need to add it on their track record. :)

If there's a reason they're not listed, how can I add the coasters to my track record here on cbuzz?

You probably should put this in the Suggestions for Coasterbuzz. Also why not Contribute them since they are not there yet? I have done that for other facilities like this. It doesnt mean that they are here though.

I did contribute them... I was just wondering if there was a special reason they weren't listed before, as they are F.E.C.'s instead of "full amusement parks"

With a kiddie coaster around since 1996, it's hard to imagine gator hasn't been on at least one of them and thus tried to contribute it before... ;) ... I could be wrong, though, which is why I contributed them as well as posting this. Also, if/when they get added, I'll contribute the coasters. I can't do that now since I can't select the park if it's not in the list.

There are several FECs listed in the database. It probably just never occurred to anyone to contribute Jeepers.
Ok.. maybe I should go to rcdb for the locations and contribute all 14 that have coasters :)

So wait a minute...you're actually admitting that you're traveling to a young kid's party place to get credits? Do you even have children? If not, I find it to be a little bit creepy.
Hey, it's the off-season and I needed a coaster fix, and that was the closest one that was available. ;)

Besides, have you ever ridden a Python Pit anywhere? It's definitely not a TTD or KK, but it's not a bad coaster. Off the lift hill, there was actually a little pop of air. The drop was a little more than I was expecting, and then a slight mid-ride pause as it crests the hill before the helix (and subsequent turnaround through blacklight-based theming). Also, the theming / blacklight stuff is slightly different at each location.

I went there with 2 friends for the coaster credit, not to hang with little kids. In fact, at the 2nd one it was a little busy, and we kept letting all the kids in front of us first before we took our ride.

EDIT: Just got off the Python Pit at the Parkville, MD Jeepers, and it wasn't anywhere near as good as the other 2 Maryland locations. It lacked the Helix, and was also a bit lacking on the "blacklight turnaround" section (i.e. no blacklight) *** Edited 2/18/2006 10:36:11 PM UTC by dannerman***

I generally have not added anything from an indoor FEC.

Even if there's a coaster? How are we supposed to add it to our track records?

I think that if there is a roller coaster at a location it should be included in the list. However, this is not my site. So, do whatever you want, Jeff.

FWIW, I have not ridden a Python Pit...yet! :)

Uncle Bernie's and American Adventures certainly aren't far off though... ;)

Failure to *appreciate* the ride available on a Miler or Herschell kiddie....shoot, KG's "kiddie" coaster has more airtime than the entire collection at that Xtreme park in SoCal...and the "big thrills in small packages" are where we get FUTURE enthusiasts (they don't grow on trees so our recruitment efforts are important...and we all need a new toaster now and then)...

As far as "creepy" is concerned, that's ridiculous, IMO. I'm sure there is an occasional trenchcoat-wearing freak or some such. But do ya think they ever travel in packs riding the kiddie coasters and then LEAVING? Didn't think so.... ;)

A bunch of people walk into a FEC wearing trenchcoasts... ride the Kidde Coaster and then leave.

Now that would be creepy....or a sick twisted april fools, mischief night or halloween prank. *** Edited 2/20/2006 2:37:51 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Watch the tram car please....
If there is a Kiddie Coaster at a park or there's one that I "Discover" while I'm Traveling I'll ride it if possible. (Some Parks won't let Adults Ride without a Kid, and some won't let Adults ride at all! :( However when I do get to ride it becomes a Credit! :)
I knew you'd understand, gator. :)

It's one thing to go there and "hang out" for a while. Something completely different to make a daytrip w/ friends to 3 different locations, spending less than about 10 minutes at each location, to ride a couple coasters you haven't yet ridden in the middle of winter when there aren't any other day-trip coaster options.

And as I've said, I was pleasantly surprised at how much ride is packed into the small coasters. (which is why I'm surprised why Jeff won't allow them listed on here so we can add them to our track record)

That's good advise except that's what Jeff has done for years. oh and just go to www.coastercounter.com *** Edited 2/20/2006 9:11:39 PM UTC by Alex Nagel*** *** Edited 2/20/2006 10:03:39 PM UTC by Alex Nagel***

Thanks for the link, but I thought Jeff said he generally stays away from adding indoor FEC's. And then somebody asked even if it has a roller coaster. He did not answer, thus my resopnse.
Alex, you make a good point, however...

Apparently, it's NOT what Jeff has done for years, because they're not there - and when asked he said that he stays away from adding indoor FECs. It's his site, and that's fine.

The simple fact of the matter is that I use Coasterbuzz for my track record since I'm a paid member. I'd rather not have multiple track records at different sites. If I had to go that route, I'd probably reconsider renewing my membership, because what's the point of having this TR if it's incomplete?

EDIT: Alex, I like how you edit part of the quote out when it makes you look like you were wrong. You originally quoted the part of his message that said about including it if a coaster is there. Not just where he tells Jeff to do whatever he wants. *** Edited 2/20/2006 10:11:23 PM UTC by dannerman***

Hah! Yeah that is classic! I agree that Jeff has been doing whatever he wants for years! Great way to creatively edit!
