Because you'd have to relocate the entire NASA complex, the Ford casting plant or I-480 and I-77.

Just because it has a permanent ferris wheel does not make it a real park. A lot of fairgrounds have some permanently installed rides (Ohio State Fair has a chairlift and a giant slide). Look at how many malls have some type of ride. You can have everything from a kiddie train ride to carousels to ferris wheels. Most of these hardly qualify as an amusement park.
I have been to the I-X a couple of times and it should definately NOT be considered an amusement park, all it is is a carnival indoors that is there for a month out of the year, if you considered this a park than you would have to consider every carnival a park

"IMO it's not an amusement park because it's primary goal isn't to attract guests for the rides, at least it doesn't sound like it. If the place had more flat rides and its purpose for being there was to provide a thrill I'd say yes."

The IX indoor amusement park has lots of rides. The zipper, log flume , small coasters, the giant ferris wheel, and many others. It is not just a fair, because it has a permantent ride and just as many rides as most amusement parks, if not more.

I think the IX indoor Amusement Park should be on the coasterbuzz park list because people like Intamin Rocks should be able to have their first coaster on their personal track file.

Guess that would make it a little bit harder ;)
Aren't there several houses they have to tear down? Plus being in a fight because of that stream. Jeff, if you ask your wife, wouldn't a 1 mile long pipe do nothing to help with the wildlife issue? (hey, let's go rafting down the pipe :) )

Rocky River is the nearest body of water, but it's totally on the other side of the NASA complex. There are a couple of streets that would come out, I think around 30 homes if I remember correctly (I probably don't). There's this revolving argument... you need a bigger airport to maintain economic growth, but you need a convention center as well.

The soap opera gets better when you hear the talk of a new convention center in downtown Cleveland. Plenty of land on the west side of the Cuyahoga River, but that's too far out of downtown. The solution? Move all of the port authority docks to the west side of the river, and put the convention center next door to Cleveland Browns Stadium where it will be close to downtown hotels.

How the heck do you think they can move a building of that size!? They used it to build tanks which should give you an idea about its size! Also, why can't the airport expand the otherway?

Well, its a steel building, not much detail to move, and it's cheaper than manufacturing a whole new design from the ground up.
Its a nice big warehouse-style...very simple.

The building is like an enclosed Football stadium, it is huge. I am all for the airport expansion. The City of Cleveland needs a better/more comfortable conventiuon center.

Go Indians!
