IX indoor amusement park should be considered park

I have decided that the IX indoor amusement park should be considered an Amusement Park. For those of you that don't live in Ohio, the IX indoor amusement park is a large park operated for spring inside the a huge building in Cleveland. This park is seasonally operated, but yet so is every other park in Ohio.
The debate comes because the rides are portable and don't stay in the IX center all year. Basically all the travelling fairs rides from the area are in the building. But also there is a huge ferris wheel that goes through the roof that stays there all year, so if effect the park has a ride that is permanently at the park.
So what do you think the about this? Should the IX indoor amusement park be considered an amusement park? I say yes.

I'd tell you, the Detroit area has to the boringest area in the U.S. We have nothing like indoor amusement parks, or for that matter Relient K. I tell you, if I lived anywhere near Cleveland, I'd be there.

i have to agree on detroit being boring, but they are having the indoor super fair at the silverdome right now,i know becouse i went last weekend and got sick on the scorpian ride.it was $12 all you can ride.
IXIAP costs $12 in advance (what I am getting) and $15 at the door. This includes the concert and rides. It's really a great deal because rK concerts usually cost anywhere from $8-$12 anyway, and this includes rides too. They are opening for super group O.C. Supertones if anyone cares.

Since when is it not considered an amusement park? I haven't checked lately, but i don't think there is any sort of "Official Amusement Park Register" any where.

Don't touch the watch.
Maybe it's less boring if you have a car and you don't live anywhere near Downriver!

Just got back from the sportsman show yesterday at the IX. It's kind of sad that it won't be there in e few years. I hope CP or SFWoA takes the wheel. But I love the indoor park. (Maybe Coasterbuzz should setup a booth?) If they could only keep them there year round and add a coaster or two (there is room) maybe that would stop the expansion of Hopkins (airport which will cause the IX to be demoplished). But either way I have always considered it a park. Especially with like the wheel like you said and the food courts. Man, the wheel is a sweet view of the city throught the roof, esp. at night.

Now, this wheel goes through the roof, right? Wouldn't it be kind of cold in the middle of winter.

I doubt CP or SFWOA would buy the wheel. They both already have one.

I do not consider this an amusement park... not at all. Its essentially a large illustritive carnival with less class than a state fair. As I am all for the airport expansion. It is not like they can't move the building...

IMO it's not an amusement park because it's primary goal isn't to attract guests for the rides, at least it doesn't sound like it. If the place had more flat rides and its purpose for being there was to provide a thrill I'd say yes. I compare it to Navy Pier in Chicago -- a carnival with not much in the way of rides. That does sound like a cool ferris wheel though.

I think it'd be cool if the wheel stayed in Cleveland if it's really big. The one at Navy Pier rocks because you get such a good view of the city and the lake. It just wouldn't be the same at an amusement park.
I consider it a carnival, except the fairgrounds are inside a building. Like a carnival it comes every year, sets up, and leaves. The only permanent attraction is the Ferris wheel, which isn't that big at all. I got a better view out my old window of the Cleveland Skyline then on that thing.
Hmmm this is a toughy...Well, one part of me wants to say it'a an amusement park, because I have it listed and pics of it as an amusement park on my site, but the other side says...it's really a Giant Fair. This is compared to the Napster debate. In the end I would have to say it's a Fair. But a Fair with some cool spinning carnival rides. :)

We also need to remember, that the airport won't be expanding for a while, so our beloved IX Center is safe where it's at for now

How the heck do you think they can move a building of that size!? They used it to build tanks which should give you an idea about its size! Also, why can't the airport expand the otherway?

Why would either park want the wheel? SFGL just got one and CP just moved their's.
