I've never ridden a coaster! Let me know...

I have never ridden a roller coaster in my life! For all you coaster enthusiasts, what should I expect once I finally ride one. How do they feel? What are they like? Please let me know!

Skate boards are cool and coasters rule!
Sorry, but I don' think you should say coasters rule since you have never riden one. I mean, you might not even like them.
Hey I loved roller coasters for 3+ years without going on 1, and hell I still thought they were the best thing on earth...Give him some credit!

Well, the true test comes on the day when you must ride one.  Take a few friends, and just have fun.  Make sure you stand between your friends, so you can't chicken out, and have fun.  That is what it is all about.  My wife finally liked coasters when she started letting go of the bar, and putting her hands up.  The freedom came when she gave it up, and put her faith in God and the designers (in that order!)  Let yourself go, and it is much more fun.  TRUST!

Pretty soon, I'll be going to Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, CA. Their coasters are Roar, Medusa, Kong, and V2. Which one should I get on first?

go on Medusa first! then roar and then others.

Medusa is the real steel rollercoaster thats why

No contest! Gotta do ROAR first...

I have technically been on all of them except Medusa, I have been on S:UE, Roar(SFA) & Mind Eraser, that counts as technically. I say start with Roar, then Kong, V2 & then Medusa, in level of intensity.

Well coasterjoker,  on your first time riding, you can probably expect a little bit of anxiety which is normal.  Don't let the anxiety get to you.  As nasai said, the true test comes on the day you ride one.  And also, I'll second what nasai said by going with friends and standing in the middle of them so you don't chicken out.  Most of all, have fun. Oh, and as I always say to my friends and family on their first rides, if you feel like it, never be afraid to scream your heart out if it makes you feel any better.
Seeing as you'll be going to Six Flags Marine World (my homepark by the way), there are several ways you can start out:

*if you want to start with no inversions (the last three in whatever order you select):
-Roar,V2, Boomerang , Kong, Medusa

*if you want to get the good ones out of the way (first three in whatever order you select):
-Medusa, Roar, V2, Kong, Boomerang

*going from least to most intense (list in reverse for most to least intense):
-Medusa, Kong, Boomerang, Roar, V2

If it's your very first ride I would suggest going on Medusa first.  Reason being, it's big, it inverts, and it's not too intense making it a pretty good first coaster.

Just my two cents.

I think you should go on Cobra first. It is not too intense and the other rides might scarce out of ever going on those.
Get on Medusa first with 3 of your friends. Like Louie, David and Hans. Make V2 your last coaster since it is the most intense. Hey, want to come over later?

I say he's lying... never ridden a rollercoaster in his entire life, but happens to find a coaster enthusiast site.

Just seems a wee bit suspicious to me, and a little weird.

...Wondering what the 2002 season holds for all parks...

I found this site after only one coaster. :)

Pay no attention to the naysayers........Hit it up, coasterjoker!  Get out there right now, buy a season pass to SFMW, ride 'em all...........go south, do the same, and build up to X, then....hey!...You will have beaten me to it.  I have ridden over 200 coasters, and a newbie can say he got the best of me.  You have the opportunity, so reach out, and enjoy!  There is nothing in the world as insane, yet so safe.  Grab ahold of the brass ring, so to speak, and do it.  The entire world of rollercoasters is waiting for you to jump in.

Maybe I should become a psychiatrist...:)

Ok, coasterjoker is my friend. He lives across the street from me. I was the one who introduced him to roller costers. You could be an enthusiast even if you haven't ridden a coaster. He just hasn't had a chance. He is going to SFMW this Spring and will have a good time.

Coastermaster, after checking your track record.... uhh typing the SAME coaster over and over doesn't really give you 48!
