Exactly. In no way am I saying that food services isn't a hard job. It just disappoints and furiates me at the same time when people think that a monkey could do the job we do. I do not know how your parks do it, but at my park being a Ride Op is both an honor and a burden that I gladly take. You want hard? Try dispatching 2 train operation with minimum staffing, night shift that shows up 30 minutes late, dealing with day shift that wants to leave, checking lap bars, getting water for the crew, checking the cleanup status on the seat u roped off to dry 5 trains ago, checking each gate area for unauthorized personnel in the ride area, filling out that hours paperwork while also fixing the past 3 hours where another in-charge has miscalculated the throughput of the ride, and signing time slips while pressing the button with your elbow and your free hand b/c your not allowed to have a stool and you don't have another in-charge (or lead as some of you call them) other than yourself to help. Yes I have done all this at once. This is what I am trying to point out. Ride Ops are by no means thumbs up button down only positions.
