Is the new thrillride going to be the stick that b

Will Thrillrides new look be the end of Coaster buzz. Since now you can do the same things that only coaster buzz could offer before, will thrillride now become the Internets Firts Supercoaster power and dominate, putting Indies out of buisness everywhere
Coasterbuzz > all ;)

Nah... Thrillride will be the "mainstream" coaster site, but I'll always think of the 'Buzz as the "elite" place for coaster enthusiasts.

Thrillride's forums might turn into the "Counter-strike forums of coasters". (If you don't play CS, never mind )
I certainly hope you're joking, Intamin.

The more the merrier. It's good for the enthusiast. Besides, right now there isn't too much that's different about that site. If you ask me, CoasterNews had a much better design before they took their site down for whatever reason. Every site finds its niche. Thrillride's is the Wild Rumors and Random Notes. Coasterbuzz is it's reader contributions. URC is it's forums and database.

There is a place for everybody.

The new design of Thrillride is, I think, pretty bad. I like the old look better.

"Riding High"

You mean they finally redid the site? 'Bout time! And, it actually loads fast now!! They need to take that stupid, corny entry page off.

Why don't you go check out the topics going on at Thrillride right now. They aren't exactly....... ummmm..... smart.
I hope they both do well. My opinion is the more the merrier. Each site has it's own individuality and I hope they all continue to operate with that in mind. It would be too bad if coaster sites became like everything else in life, competing to be the best instead of trying to offer something different then the next one.

"Nippy!! Where the hell are ya?"
I'm gonna start going there more.
Not to be bashing, but I ain't going to go there any more than I used to which was about once a month (I don't like stupid, idiotic rumors).

Man I love those crazy rumors. They always make me think what if a park really does that. They also brighten things up by giving a laugh at some of the dumb things they say, Like cedar point is being bought out by six flags. Anyway don't take the rumors seriously , they are rumors and just that, get a laugh at them and read on. But I think thrillride will have no effect on coasterbuzz. For one CoasterBuzz has a wide variety of people and things.
I always try to stress this, and over the past few months, it's seemed to come up more and more, but...

Competion, for the consumer, is good!

Besides... From talking on a one-to-one basis with both Jeff and Bob Coker, they're both really cool dudes! They both know how to run successful sites, and I really doubt this'll ever go beyond anythin but good, friendly competition.

(Edit. Thanks to CoasterGod for the crossed wires heads-up! ;))

Huh? Is that not Jeff Putz & Bob Coker? I'm sticking with CB, it takes too much energy to do both.

Why did Thrillride get Forums?? What if we miss out on hot gozzip? Ah, bugger it.
I highly doubt this will be the end of either. Is what will result is friendly competition, meaning more updates for both, and more often. More features too! The only problem will be both this site and Thrillride have limited staff (at the moment.)

-------------
V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
They're really two differnet types of sites you can't compare... Thrillride goes more for the rollercoaster content with reviews and more features and such, while Coasterbuzz is a really interactive and great site. I like both, and will not stop visiting either because I'm foolishly partial to one.

Now, I have a reason to go more than once a week. All I know is, now I can eat my cake and have another. :)

I love the Wild Rumors! They're tons of fun.

PKI-Wooden, Helix, and Kiddie Coaster Capital of the World!
The First and Only Gigabuzzer bigger than Millie, rising Faster than Maggie, and pulls more BS than MS ever will!!!
Re: New Thrillride look.
Personally me no like. I miss the all black background.
BUT I can see why. Its faster probably easier to maintain and simpler to navigate.

As for CB vs TR!, not a question in my mind. I'll do both. CB for the forums and articles. TR! for the rumors and ride reviews. PLUS I dont think I wanna go through the whole CP vs SFMM, Is S:TR really a coaster?, Intamin vs B&M, Woodies vs Steels, my Penis is bigger is than yours .... oops how did that get in there ;-)

If Lifes a Rollercoaster, I want a Flawless
I don't really see any one site dominating anything.

Thrillride and Screamscape both offer the same kind of thing -- a feature oriented site with news and rumors and background

Coasterbuzz is more forum and news oriented

Rollercoaster Database (rcdb.com) offers a ginormous list of parks and coasters and links.

I think each has its own niche.

Heck, I remember when Geisel's rollercoaster.com and Incoasterpedia were the undisputed kings.

FYI-he does that for web spiders...If a web page has borders...like he did, it's really three pages and a web spider won't be able to find the keywords the webmasters wants them to find. He puts that but to help Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Goto, ect...list his content higher on web searches...CB doesn't have to do that cause it refreshes each time with a true index page

I have always loved thrillride. But I don't think that I would ever abandon the coasterbuzz forums, just spend a little time on each. Or more time on both!

Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
Frick, both sites have their share of good attributes, and bad attributes.

I plan on reading both..
